Hell, on any given 3rd down play, half the D would be looking to the sideline or bouncing around in formation as the ball was being snapped. Whether that was willful disobedience or honestly being lost, it goes back to the guy calling the defensive plays.

Every. Single. One.

I do not jest. Heck, the plays on the sideline were often funnelled to one player (I believe Herrera was it last year). If that one player is flummoxed by it - and Herrera often was - then the whole blasted defense is flummoxed.

My wife the non-football fan was watching our defense, noticed the wholesale confusion again and again (I'm thinking it was the Auburn game), and said, "You need to fire your defensive coach".

It was that obvious to her, it pretty much should be that obvious to everyone.
