Nice job reading up on wikipedia nicholae. Stellar.

In other news, Sherman only burned Atlanta as a part of a trail of ashes he decided to leave after he got his arse kicked and lost half his men at Kennesaw Mountain, while confederate forces played the same song right back at him. It really pissed him off, so that's when he decided he'd start burning everything down from that point forward. True story.

Part of it might be true, but not all of it. Sherman had decided that destroying the populace was the only way to win the war before he was ever deployed to Georgia. He burned a swathe of Mississippi before he even entered Georgia.

For fifty years I always heard "working on the railroad" and thought it was part/parcel of their fight song...maybe "working on a chain gang" would be more apt these days?

BTW don't know how much they will get to play their fight songs in 2014 with a 7-5 or 8-4 record but maybe Vandy will accommodate them this year at home?

We always seem to get railed in Athens. I was looking back through our records, and I was surprised by how many really good teams we played close. I guess the almost hopeless feelings of pre-Franklin football (for the most part) drown out how many "what if" results there are. No matter what, it seems like we get blasted at UGA though. Hopefully that changes this year.

I've heard that Florida will be using "Statesboro Blues" for their pump up song. Any truth to that?

Fair point. Coach Richt did tear up a bit after he beat LSU this year.

Forence + The Machine -- Recent song, should be poppy enough to get the fans into the game.

The Antlers -- Might be a bit slow for a fight song... But great song none the less.

The Stooges -- Can't go wrong here (actually would be a great one...)

Elvis -- He's the king for a reason...

This one just seems too perfect!! -- Winner, winner...

How was your bowl this year?

Did you have frosted flakes or the generic brand?
