I'm not sure if you just capped this thread off or put a cowboy hat on it.

You need to break up some of that text with illustrations. I'm a visual person.

I have expressed a similar concept on the poliboard (and never got a response :)) several times but without the detailed mechanism that you suggest which of course is an unknown. Then again that is the point: we simply do not know if a creator exists and if there is a consciousness that lives on after death.

That fact that perception becomes reality and that a concept can therefore be real without knowing if it actually exists is an important point. Atheists/the enlightened are quick to discard religion/faith as a delusional fabrication that human beings created to explain the unknown. This might well be yet because it is still unknown and who is to say that perceptions created through faith don't become reality in some form of afterlife?

I do think that your scientific basis is interesting. Einstein explained the relationship between matter and energy. We are told that energy can be neither created or destroyed but rather is converted from one form to another at the atomic level. The $64 question of course is do we have a soul that is a form of energy that is not destroyed and exists after death? Again the answer is we do not know. And maybe when you consider that space/time is literally relative to your proximity, maybe that 30 seconds becomes all the eternity we need to hold on to.

I did not copy and paste this info from anywhere, except for the French revolution story and the Jacobs Ladder quote. I clipped my iPad into a keyboard and tapped it all out late last evening.

Believe it or not, I enjoy researching this material while attempting to connect dots. I did the same with the Missouri/War of 1812 connection, and the Missouri/Revolutionary War connection.

Just wait for my serial killer thread. The dots I connect will blow your mind.

Heaven and hell are places of existence, not a state of mind.

the "surge" lasts for approximately 30 seconds. That's enough time for an eternal afterlife within the dreamscape.

This is dealt with in part by ''Last Thursdayism''. A person could conceivably exist for an eternity between life and death, but there is literally no reason to believe this is true.

For instance: When people claim to experience OBE close to death, float around the hospital and see things they never see a digital readout that are on top of the cabinets to check for this. Now, if someone is close to death and says they see this bunch of numbers, we have something interesting.

Furthermore and how that correlates is: We can measure perception fairly easily. There have been people who have tested those who are falling to see if time actually slows down, likewise for traumatic experiences.

Both yielded negative results. Our perception can only change personally and can be measured easily. For instance, time will be slower from your POV if you count seconds, likewise for staring at a single point on your wall.

You'll notice that your perception did not, in fact, slow down the universe.

It's an interesting theory (and one of my phobias to some degree) but there's just no reason or merit behind it.

This is under the presumption that everything ends when you do. However, having seen plenty of people cease to exist metaphysically, they are still here.

Likewise, works from brilliant men and women in the past continue to exist.

Unless you supplant Last Thursdayism.

Most dreams last between a few seconds to 20 seconds. However, in dreams we have a completely different perception of time. Days, weeks, or perhaps a lifetime may occur within a 5 second dream.

Has this been scientifically proven? Because I find just the opposite happens in my dreams. I find that if a real world event interposes itself in my dream, like a ticking clock noise makes it's way into my dream, then the real world event is "sped up" in my dream, i.e. the ticks would seem faster than what they should be.

And this makes sense in my mind, as my subconscious would be worn the frick out if it had to live through eternities every night.

Not true. One's soul/spirit lives on after one's body is gone. That soul/spirit has existence in another realm, another place.

The lack of not only science but philosophy is starting to physically hurt me regarding this thread.
