Great theory, a lot of your points relate to the study of the pineal gland.
If you guys want to read something that will blow your mind read THIS and do some further research
The article talks about the psychedelic drug called DMT which is very similar to what the brain produces in near death experiences, when you dream, and meditation. It talks about how the gland has be symbolized in almost every common religion today and throughout many ancient civilizations. DMT again is almost identical to what your brain releases and it talks about some states of consciousness people achieve when they take extracted forms of it.
Do some research on the pineal gland and DMT experiences. I find it interesting because it's something that science and religion kind of come together on when it comes to consciousness after death.

Bingo was his name-o. If you've heard about this kind of stuff in the past then you have done some research on DMT, which shares some chemicals that the brain releases both when you dream and when you are near death.
A physiological explanation for everything.

Check out this jag, DMT is crazy. Lots of fun sitting in a field listening to live music.
I'm a regular on the JRE, I already know about all this stuff you guys are just reading about. ;)
Joe Rogan Experience podcast, check it out.

you won't be able to understand DMT by reading about it.

Which was it, Op: LSD or DMT?

May want to read up on your Hegel: I do not need to be a shoemaker to understand that my shoes do not fit.
Likewise, a person's experience is not an accurate barometer on whether or not they can conceptualize something.

I'm sure you have an idea. Kind of like a female has an idea of what it feels like to get kicked in the balls.
It is one thing to read about what an out of body experience is. An entirely different thing to experience it.

Every DMT experience I've read about all specifically state that where they go cannot be explained through words.
Heaven in religion is always described as eternal, all-knowing, and all-loving. People that take high enough doses of DMT say they are surrounded by beings that love them and welcome them. The craziest thing is that the place they visit while under the influence feels more familiar to them than anything on earth. Also how time doesn't exist and how they are given complete universal knowledge on why and how the universe is.
Crazy stuff

DMT was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. A bit frightening, but amazing.

Wish I knew how to get it. Sounds awesome.

An ex coworker of mine has it all the time if you are ever in New Orleans.
She is a little strange as you can imagine but a really sweet girl.

So it seems more people than I'd expect know about DMT. Real question: How many of you have done it IRL?
Posted on 2/17/14 at 5:41 pm to CheeseburgerEddie
Nope. But given the opportunity...

Good call by not doing it? So you're saying we shouldn't do DMT? I've only heard good things about it.
Posted on 2/17/14 at 5:54 pm to Gradual_Stroke
You shouldn't do it unless you completely sure about it. Don't want to have any fears or any reservation about doing it cause that can take a hold. Should not be your first hallucinating experience IMO.
But it is a crazy and amazing experience. Also there are different levels you can do and be just fine. I am talking about a serious looking down at yourself/can't move, time almost stops kind of experience. It is not something to just do on a whim.

So I should try LSD or something before doing DMT?
