lol ... afraid to leave the woodlands because the rest of the city is dirty ... bet you have fun walking around all those shops along that 'waterfront' ...
houston has a good bit more 'happening' scenes than dallas, though it also has just as many overpriced bars/nightlife with the same generic crowd as dallas ... neither city is a 'vacation' destination, outside of the games you want to see ... i've never been to fort worth, but i've always heard it's a much better place to visit than dallas (it's a good bit smaller) ... the one advantage houston might have, football wise, is as others have said - the light rail from downtown to the stadium ... passes through midtown (lots of bars/nightlife/restaurants) ...

Grew up in Park Cities area of Dallas, now live in Houston.
I'd say Dallas, but the downtiwn area FW is really awesome also.

GTFO. Chicago is where you go to get your guns taken away and then shot later that day.
Concealed carry now available in Chicago. Probably not getting shot unless you're stupid enough to go to the south or west sides. Don't look like a stupid tourist and you're fine.
Generic is a term I've never heard used in describing Chicago.

Go to the game at Lambeau and wait for Wisconsin to make a sugar bowl appearance is your best answer
Houston/Dallas aren't anything special nor unique

frick ... never noticed that before. You're a Chicagoan. That explains a lot of things.
Just another reason I hope God drops a meteor on that fricking cesspool of a city one day. A big one that raises a ton of ejection debris and other rocky burning matter into the gulf stream and then dumps it over on NYC and DC.
frick I hate mizzerites ... and I especially hate chicagoans.

I lived in Houston for two years and spent a month working in dallas-fort worth as well. Dallas all the way for me. Lot better nightlife and better city imo.

Don't compare Houston and Chicago.
Chi-town is miles better than anything in Texas.
This.

Typical Texan attitude. I've spent months in Texas. I've spent time in Chicago. Chicago is better than anything in Texas and it really isn't even close.
Most people don't venture onto the Southside.

Chicago is one of our great American cities and is better than any city in the Lone Star State, but Texas has more overall to offer than Illinois, imo.

Illinois might be the most corrupt and god-awful state in the union. Texas is doing it right and has a bright future. That said, I can live wherever I want to do what I do, and I still like Chicago better than about anywhere else.

Both cities are great places for bars, restaurants and nightlife. DFW airport is closer to Cowboys stadium but Houston's downtown is closer to Reliant stadium. Dallas is a little more metropolitan and Houston is a little more country. Houston in late August/early Sept. has oppressive humidity in a take 3 showers a day kind of way. Dallas is more of a dry/choking heat like you'd see in an old Clint Eastwood Western. I know both stadiums are indoors. Take your pick, either LSU or Alabama will be great games and both stadiums are jaw dropping big and amazing.

Hobby airport is the closest airport to reliant. Closer than dfw to AT&T.

I avoid Dallas if at all possible. I don't have enough experience with Houston to say if that is better or not.
