I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and they said since Satan has been at Bama, every 5 star recruit has been a 1st round draft pick
Nice pitch to have on the recruiting trail

I heard that too..We have had some five star busts. i can think of two off the top of my head. So I guess they are saying that every five startwho played at alabama and was eventually drafted went in the first round. Cuz Love and BJ Scott were 5 stars by at least one recruiting site.
I see the man above beat me to this

I wonder what % of five stars are 1st round draft picks.

Not even close. Several have not been. There was some study a year or so ago that showed Bama had about the worst percentage of four and five star guys make it to the nfl of any sec school.

Sorry, don't have it saved. It was posted here a few times and discussed. You will have to find it or hope someone else has it.

The only 3 five stars (according to 247) that didn't get drafted in the first round were Love, Scott, and Nico Johnson (4th round).

I think just the ones that don't get processed make it.

Didn't Rivals say, when the original guys left to start 247, that there was an obvious bama bump?

I believe the stat is Top 15. If we get a player who is a 5* in the overall Top 15, he is guaranteed to go in the first round. Which is still pretty impressive.

Between 2002 and 2010 Rivals 5 stars:
"» Of those 262, 116 were drafted (44.3 percent) and 42 went in the first round (16 percent); 38 percent of the five stars who were drafted were first-rounders"

BJ Scott and Tyler Love are the only two 5-star busts I can really think of.

What he was getting at went way over your head.

So Saban is doing better than average.

And now that Bama bump has extended to every recruiting service as Scout had us with 7 5-stars, Rivals and 247 had us with 6, and ESPN had us with 5.

Players kicked off the team for criminal activity shouldn't (and don't) count.
