So which one is the greatest? Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer and Pete Carroll have all coached college national champions and Super Bowl champions. Nick Saban has coached college national champions and was an absolute joke as an NFL coach - one of the worst to ever put on headphones.
Surely that eats on Saban that he is fourth at best. Does he give the Gumps one more season and then give it another try in the NFL?

As a CFB fan I'd say Saban.
If I was a Rantard I'd say anyone but Saban.

"I think we just won the national championship!"
Looks like Carroll did something Saban could not and never could.

Didn't Barry basically take over what Jimmy had built? I would say JJ gets a nod right now. Carroll is still coaching so let's see what happens.
eta: I misread the OP maybe. I didn't see Saban's name...If it is college ball I give it to Saban, Switzer, JJ and Carroll in that order.
Add in pro JJ, Carroll, Switzer, Saban

JJ gets honorable mention at the very least

Didn't Carroll and Saban have essentially the same NFL record before Carroll went to Seattle?

Pre Carroll to Seattle:
He was fired twice
Saban had a better record his 1st 2 seasons

Compared to his college coaching resume..yes, yes he was.

Quit dick riding former Arky coaches and their success in the NFL.

The same could be said for Carroll before going to Seattle.

Your pathetic dreams of Saban leaving are matched only by your ignorance. Congrats.

Sorry, but I don't see Pete Carrol holding the BCS trophy in January of 2004. So what BCS national championship did he win in the BCS era?

Carroll had 2 NFL stops that were much worse than Saban's tenure in Miami
