I turned to the Grammys for about 15 seconds, saw some black rapper and white female singer performing. It did look a little demonic. I had no idea who they were or what song they were doing.

What the people who put these events on don't realize, is that award shows for stars have becoming extremely stale to the viewers. All the people we want to see... we get too much of between reality tv shows, commercials, and all the in-your-face advertising (and Youtube)
People used to get excited for VMAs, Emmys, Grammys, etc because it was the only time of the year they got to see their favorite celebrities. We see these people all the time, we hear all their ignorant self absorbed thoughts all the time.
There used to only be 1-3 credible award shows per year. How many do we have now?
