How was Oregon able to use Nike money to start winning, but no Arky with Wally?

Most people agree that Oregon started winning when they got the best facilities in the country for their players. They were one of the worst programs in the country for many years.
Arkansas gets that Walmart money, but can't match up with what Oregon has been able to do.
Why is that?

I've also pondered this same question. Very valid inquisition. Maybe Nike = sexy
Walmart = not so much.

Nike gets to use Oregon as their prototype. They are also a sporting goods company. everything they wear is a nike advertisement
Walmart can't even put walmart on the uniform

For some reason I was thinking Wal-Mart supported Alabama

Because Nike invests a ton in football and is arguably the premiere brand in sports. Plus Nike is cool in popular culture and casual clothes. That draws people's attention.
Wal Mart not so much. They have the money sure, but they aren't in the athletic market like Nike.
What would they even offer the players? Free Starter brand gear?

Apart from building Bud Walton, Wal-Mart and the Waltons spend most of their local $ supporting academics and the local arts.
They gave the university $350 million or so over the past 15 years. The $15 million that Bud Walton gave to the arena project is small change by comparison.
Their $350 million is small change compared to the billion or so they've spent on local arts projects, including Crystal Bridges.
Tyson, Lindsey, Reynold's Foundation, etc have been larger donors to sports, apart from Bud Walton.

No, that can't be it.
In-bred Ozark hillbillies thought that facility upgrades meant indoor plumbing for all!
