Will Friend is the last weak link in the coaching staff.
I'm not so sure. See, the flip side of the he cannot recruit argument is that he is coaching up the crap he has. I mean, we have been lining up GUARDS at Left Tackle since Sturdivant blew his knee up and Friend has been getting interior guys that might be serviceable Right Tackles to play solidly at Left Tackle. The fact we didn't give up 5 sacks a game through LT alone is honestly a testament to his coaching ability.
Needs a lot of work recruiting though. Only Ball is worse.

I'll give you that. I sometimes question whether it's the ability of the line and coaches (d and o) or is it the s&c. Both seem to always get pushed around. That's not the topic for this thread though.

Will you ever kill the engine? Not that I care mind you, you seem to at least be nega-richt in a pleasant way, unlike 99% of the others on your bus.

I used to be a nega Richt nega Dawg but after paying close attention over the years I couldn't have asked for a better coach for us during his tenure. People say we underperform and some years we definatly have but we average right about where our recruiting says we should average and he does a good job at least keeping us in the East race most years which in the SEC is a good testament to him. We all want a national title but so do the other 100+ teams and we have been in the conversation a few times so I have started to admire his body of work. I also like the fact that recently he has been willing to change it up and try new things and adapt. When he seemed reluctant to give up the offense and change coordinators he grew really sour on me so the last couple of years has been refreshing to see some new things and some exciting hires. Getting Pruitt was fun and the program seems to be motoring on holding a good status as a Top 10 - 15 range program. I can live with that.

That would be fking awesome. I want our BBall program to be relevant and that would be a good step.

As always with basketball recruits, I'll wait till they sign before I get excited.

If we got him and Daniel Giddens I would have to believe that Damn Good Dawg has expanded his bagman duties.

I feel largely the same way and agree with what you've said here, Richt is a good coach with a good body of work. The thing that has always bugged me though are the inexplicable blowouts we have, such as 2007 Tennessee, 2008 Bama, and 2012 USCe all left me questioning the motivational abilities of Richt and the staff. We're not going to win them all, but we should at least be in the game every time.

I can't imagine it because I haven't really killed the engine yet. That said since the 2012 SECCG I haven't wanted him fired mainly because there's no reason to and no suitable replacement. Hell, I stopped fawning over people I want to replace him. If we went to shite I only have a few dudes I know for certain I'd want and all are unrealistic.
I guess I am that dick that is national title or bust. If Pruitt is as good as I hope he is then maybe I'll have faith in the Richator again because, IMO, the only way Mark Richt will ever win a national title is by playing CEO while his coordinators do the heavy lifting. This is the first and only time he has had competent guys on both sides. Or at least I hope it is. Loyalty and complacency was what pissed me off recently and lately it seems he's doing what he can to fix that.
If it works remains to be seen but it has definitely stalled FCMR progress...but all I have to do is shift the bus into gear...

The last I heard he would play WR.
However he could probably go either way...and with Pruitt emphasizing speed on the Defense I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him at Corner
