So last season, out of 23 players signed, two true freshmen made an impact?

And these will be the guys, from the #6 class in the country, making an impact 2-3 years down the line, which seems to be what you're most concerned about right now.

You're putting the cart before the horse. Every team deals with the same things. You've got to get them in first and who knows what happens after that. I trust this staff to develop the players we're getting much more than the last one, that's for sure, and we've got a whole lot of talent to work with right now.

I decoded another one for you guys over on the recruiting board. Here it is.

quote:

The time is the real indicator here.

7:00.

What was Auburn's rank during the UGA game last year?

7

Do you see?

What was the number of the player that tipped the ball out of Tray Matthews's hands allowing Auburn to win?

25. 2+5=7

DO YOU SEE??

How far was that pass?

73 yards.

7 + there are 3 T's in Trent Thompson

DO YOU SEE?

It's all so obvious.

Yea guys, that's my bad.

I had the Trent Thompson coefficient as alpha. I was clearly mistaken there. It is obvious now that his coefficient is beta. Plug that in, and it changed everything.

Sorry to unintentionally mislead

So we're going to jump already? Damn, I wanted to stare over the edge awhile first. Shouldn't we wait and watch a game or two first? Just is case?

I tHink some people are disappointed in this class at this point because if you look at 247 for example, our third best player is a 90/91 with our number of commits in the high teens. that high number this early is also a reason why we are ranked high, other teams will catch up.

A lot of big 5 star types were naming us in their top whateveror showing much interest early on but we are not in several of those now. people want those ready to step in and play now, elite size/athleticism players. people are wondering where is our Lawson, Adams, similarly rated players in this class? Robinson is one but after our national title appearance people expect more. some people are frustrated the coaches are taking the guys we have whten they think they can do better, address needs differently.

To some of that I say remember Carl Lawson was not fairly high ranked going into his senior season. that is an extreme example with his talent but our commits have not played their senior season yet and therefore have room to move up. I don't think we will see anything like Bama bumps ( they trust Saban's analysis, too early for them regarding Gus) but the recruiting sites know the coaches see something special in these kids (current commit and hi-pri targets) and to pay attention to them going forward. Braden Smith and auburn did not know each other this time last year and with the office running a differenT dynamic, playmakers in the passing game, and what I predict a much better skill defense, we will certainly see the interest pick up.

these are things I think we all know but we have never had this many commits at this point, in the ever changing landscape of recruiting, so the analysis is heavy on what we have versus being on who is interested, their comments etc.

Dr Obvious opinion to some but just saying we need some patience.

Darryl Williams bout to flip

"Coach Saban is hailed like a celebrity, and on TV he's straight and all-business," Williams says. "Growing up an Alabama fan, my first time in his office, I thought I was dreaming. He has trophies and stuff everywhere. It's decorated, you can dim the lights however you want them and he has a remote for everything. He's like a mini-president.

"We sat down, he picked up the remote, pressed a button and the door closed by itself. I wanted to listen to what he was saying, but I couldn't. I was just sitting there saying 'Yes sir, no sir.'"

"Committing early might be a good thing, but I feel like I should have waited a little bit longer."

"They offered me, then I went up there for A-Day and I was about to commit, but Nick Saban had to go."

"Coaches were telling me I needed to find a school and try to commit early. Alabama wanted to see me at camp and Auburn was showing me a lot of love. So I committed to Auburn on a Tuesday and then that Wednesday (defensive coordinator Kirby) Smart came to my practice with a camera and taped me doing drills and scrimmaging. He took the video back to Alabama and all the coaches watched it. Coach Saban called me and said, 'Forget the camp, I want you to come to Alabama.'"

So who are our next targets? Obviously Holland, but who else? Assuming he does jump ship.

Wasn't there some linebacker from Texas we offered? I forgot his name, so a lot of info to go with I know.
