Seems to me that you're still miffed that DGB didn't go to Arkansas. Also seems to me that clearly DGB made the best decision which athletic program to attend. Am I wrong?

If distribution was one of the charges, I would think he had more than 5 grams of weed.

From everything I have read he was arrested but not formally charged as would be SOP. The investigation would be completed and then a case file would be turned over to the prosecutor to decide what, if any, formal charges would be filed which is typical of most jurisdictions. LINK

The police can and usually do have some input in a case but ultimately it is the prosecutor's call. Anytime you have an arrest with a number of people in a car it may take some time to sort out who is responsible for what. This story gives one of the more thorough accounts. LINK

I believe it was the day after dgb made his decision an article came out about his recruitment including commentary from his parents. They obviously live in their own little bubble world because a huge deal was made about dgb being underage and offered alcohol on his visit to Arkansas like that was the worst and most shocking thing humanly possible. I can't remember specifics but there was also comments about booster(s) possibly calling and leaving messages on their voicemail or something.

Anyway, just funny as hell now to me that dgb has 2 drug related charges at Mizzou- I can imagine the mother putting her hand to her forehead and fainting on the spot when she heard.

Well, when a delusional poster goes full retard on logic, I exit the thread. What's the point in continuing the discussion, right? Back to the A&M Board where logic is plentiful and delusions of grandeur don't exist

We all know that it is impossible for a university to monitor their athletes at every moment. DGB was punished for his violation of law while on Mizzou campus. His latest crime, if it was one, took place while was home. I am sure his parents are furious at him regarding the incident. At the very least, he may need to rethink his choice of companions.

I understand how Arkansas fans may want to poke some scorn at the mother. But to be fair, there is some difference in the situation. Evidently, DGB was offered alcoholic drinks while on official visit to Arkansas. I am sure it was not done by college administrators, but still not a smart or legal option.

Oh, Lawdy. Porker, did you actually manage that one with a straight face? Really?

But yes, I'd say he needs to be a bit more careful with his choice of friends. He has way too much on the line to screw up like this. Hope he gets it together.

You missed the point, which was that DGB was going to get into trouble, as his mother sees it, no matter where he went to school. It's ironic.

I can see your point but I still don't think parents come out and say that stuff especially right then after the decision. She's (they are) entitled to their thoughts, opinions and preferences on the process since they're the parents of course but I just think it's ridiculous to come out in the article and tell it to the world. Since I am a hog fan and she was referring to us I'm sure that makes it even more absurd to me- I'll admit, I'm not immune to some bias. That said, I wouldn't be thrilled with one of our recruits parents spouting that kind of stuff either.

I also hope this is DGB's wake up call- it doesn't sound so far like this is anything he'd be unable to come back from but he needs to clean it up after this one before he causes his future some harm.

I think the real problem there was the media. It was an absolute circus around his recruitment, and in southwest Missouri, that was really atypical. And reporters will do or say anything to get a story. They'll pressure, badger, ask questions and twist answers. My guess is that the Beckhams were not prepared for that media circus, and even less ready for all the question being flung their way. They granted that interview, and likely got lulled into saying some things they wish they hadn't, or at the very least said thing they wouldn't have said had they known it was going to be presented in that light. Reporters are good at that, they get people talking by making them think they're just having a conversation over a cup of coffee - and then bam!

But what she said was definitely unkind, and didn't need to be said.

I had alcoholic beverages in my presence almost every day of my life growing up. And I hardly ever drink, except for a little wine at church. Does he have a predisposition for drinking? Can he say "no, thank you"?
