I think Yeldon should be benched.

Yeah...let's bench a running back who has run for over 2,000 yards in his career, while averaging more than 6 yards per carry.

Honestly, if the fumbles persist into next year, I'd bench him in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't bench Yeldon, but I would be happy if he took on a little more involved than Roy Upchurch role as the third guy. He's too talented to carry it as little as Roy did, but 9 carries and 4 pass targets per game is what I'd like to see Yeldon get next year as of today

Yeldon should only be allowed to carry the ball between the 30's next year. This fumble in the red zone shite is unacceptable

If Henry continues improving on his blocking, I would not be at all opposed to him taking over #1 duties. He hit the hole hard, showed vision and good hands in his limited role. I think he could be better than Yeldon with more experience.

eta - I'm not saying bench Yeldon though. He needs to get his carries too.

I'd bench Yeldon any time he fumbles. That should be his last play of the game. Same with Drake. If we did this in the UK game, can you imagine the benefits? It's not like UK was going to beat us. We didn't need our best personnel on the field. The additional benefit is you would get young backs some meaningful snaps and the older backs would be taught a lesson. There are hungry, talented backs behind them that are more than happy to take care of the football if Yeldon and Drake aren't interested.

I agree. We have enough RBs to be able to do this too.

Yeldon is extremely overrated by our fan base. Our other RBs should get a lot more carries.

He lost a step at some point between this year and last year.

All the Barners seem to want Yeldon to remain the starter next year.

The way the game is played now days is different. You have players just as good as you waiting to take over your job if you keep fricking up. What has Yeldon done all year? frick UP. Henry has only showed flashes of brilliance. I'll be shocked if Henry isn't our #1 back next year. I think he takes the role in the spring game and into summer work outs and into the first fall practices. You can't leave someone as talented as him on the bench or even 2nd string. ALL HAIL THE NEW KING.

I'm starting to come around because I now realize just how good Henry is. My earlier opinion was based on Yeldon being the best back on our team.

I'm not sure if Yeldon is even the 2nd best back on the team..

The problem with both Yeldon and Drake is they are classic all purpose backs ie tall lanky RBs that unfortunately have ball security problems. I don't know if it is the longer body that opens them up to more hits on the ball or what. It just seems both of them fit the All purpose back stereotypes to a t except neither of them get hurt a lot like a CJ Spiller/Terry Grant.
