A reasonable auburn fan. I like this guy.
I will usually troll along with most anything, but Big 6 status is not something I will let people frick around with. That is something earned over the entire course of the conference, not something that goobers can swipe away after a bad year or a average few years.
Frick, Georgia would have to lose 133 straight SEC games to get to .500 against the league. That's 16 years straight of going 0-8 in league play, and then a year of starting off 0-5 to follow that up.
Ain't gonna happen fellas!

In your opinion.

Yeah, widely considered by the sample size of one, me.
Why don't you do some research on what a flagship school is then come back when you have something intelligent to say on the topic.

I think it might be time to remind everyone of our superiority with a good old fashioned "Georgia is awesome" thread
Since this thread is going to shite anyway and this has likely already been posted and I'm just too lazy to read far enough to find it, this looks like as good a spot as any for...

My question was about the definition of flagship though. I think UG is the only answer.

According to Majin Buu's link: South Carolina (Clemson ranked higher) and Indiana (Purdue). There might be more, but those were the first two that I noticed.

It can be a little bit subjective, but usually when you are the "University of [Insert State here]", you are the flagship.

And I answered it. The most widely accepted definition is the first/oldest in the University system of the state. A less common definition is the largest. UGA was both the first and largest.

Yep, just biding my time til I can take my posting over there. I have no idea why, but I think it's like how people aren't really all that attracted to someone until they're off the market, then they are attracted to them because they know they can't have them.
I know I can't post on the auburn board and for some reason it really irritates me

Doubtful, but you also have to take into account the vastly broader spectrum of studies that UGA offers than Georgia Tech. GT is a much more focused school. They are a great school, no doubt, but consist of a fantastic engineering school, an erroneously ranked business school, and not a whole lot beyond that.

Some states have an argument. For instance, what is the flagship university of Idaho?

Florida and Georgia in the East due to in-state recruiting potential, and Bama, LSU, TAM in the West due to in-state recruiting potential.
Auburn, due to a couple of last second miracles, won the SEC West this year, but can they translate that into a big-boy recruiting program?
That is the question. Winning the BCS this year could help turn Auburn into a perennial SEC power.
