I think anyone associated w college football over the past 10 years or more can honestly say Saint Nick is the best of the very best. He brought LSU its first BCS title and had ALA competing for a BCS title game seemingly EVERY year. WTF! Bryant, Paterno, Switzer, Osborne, Schembechler, Hayes, Broyles, Dietzel, Vaught, Meyer, Brown, etc.... great coaches but mainly at one program.
Matter of fact let's take the "level" of dominance to a new level: Michigan State, LSU, ALA: 3 great universities with top 10 football programs NOW! I don't think this is by accident. Sure the current coaches at these respected universities are developing into (considered)great coaches in their era but Saban basically dominated his rivals while he was there (or at least competed every year) and left the programs competitive EVERY game when they weren't. He probably would have won a BCS title at Michigan State if he had stayed put 1 more season. LSU competes for conference and national titles EVERY season.
So does Saban want to win a national title at TEXAS? Well....... Double your salary? Well....
Secure your state border (and hand pick the best football prospects in the LAND) Well..... YES!?
Who knows? Personally it's a catch 22 IMO. I would really embellish the thought of Ala. fans experiencing what a long-time LSU fan has for the past very hard to comprehend 2 years running. Our BCS championship hopes crushed by our old coach. WFT? Modern times are different.
On the other side (and this is true for ALA fans as well) if he bolts for TEXAS he still gets the best player from ANY state. If he holds true to his recruiting skills he will get a lot more Texas kids w 5* rankings. This is double trouble for LSU (maybe) since TX kids like LSU b/c of proximity.
In closing I remember shaking Saban's hand after the 2003 BCS title at a fund raiser in H-town and him looking at me like he was happy for me but not delighted (if that makes sense). It was a great moment for me. I hope he moves on to Texas and plays ALA/LSU/MICH STATE every once in a while for the national title.

If you can somehow turn this into a cheer and go stand outside his house in a burnt orange and white cheerleader uniform and chant it, he might just go to Texas.

Do you really think he's going to Texas? If you're trolling - carry on. If you're serious - seek out medical help.
