If anyone else has gone feel free to respond.
How is the atmosphere, seating, amenities, etc?

It's the best CFB stadium in the country imho. Not necessarily the nicest or most modern, but the atmosphere and setting can not be beat. I wouldn't mind if the new playoff championship was held there every year.

I love the Rose Bowl the San Gabriel Mountains in background and the history. The Rose Bowl is enormous but you don't feel like you're swallowed up by it. I dislike Pasadena as a city.

Atmosphere and setting are the best ever.
It compares more to michigan's big house.
Not imposingly big like most SEC stadiums.

I don't know, but on TV it looks like it's lit with lanterns and the seats are 300 yards from the field due to the low, gradual incline.

It should be torn down along with the trash truck worker convention stadium in Knoxville

There is like 4-6 pissers. I kept walking in the out Ro avoid the obnoxious line.
Pretty facade, but interior was shite. It's a bowl with booths built around it after the fact....that's what was there then. I liked it but everyone else bitched so I hafta bitch too, I guess.
Oh and maybe 1 person in LA will give a shite why you're there.

The lighting is iffy.
So, I don't think it's slam-dunk the best for the BCS Championship game which is always at night.
But, for what it was built for - day games, the Rose Bowl game and late afternoon setting and sunset is the best bowl game experience in CFB.
That's the ultimate experience for any CFB fan. Regular old fashioned Rose Bowl.

Horrendous imo. Never been to a Rose Bowl there (fricking 2001
)
But I've seen Tennessee play UCLA there and it is a dump.
Similar to Neyland in some ways actually.

it is the best college football stadium in the country. the history, the pageantry, the setting...everything is top notch. its an old stadium and depending where you are sitting you may have to sit on bleachers, but it is without a doubt the best place to watch a football game
its far from having the nicest amenities, but the atmosphere, the setting, and history cant be beat

Beautiful setting and everyone should see at least one game there. However, most of the seating sucks and it's a no-frills stadium. Take the other posters' advice and get there early and plan on trips to restrooms/concession stand taking very long.

The Coliseum in Rome comes to mind.

go to the bathroom and get your drinks before the game or you're going to miss about a half a quarter of football each time you leave the stadium, which you have to do to use the bathroom.

I've lived about an hour from the Rose Bowl for about 13 years. I've been to 4 games there and it's a great stadium. It's very much an old school stadium and unlike any SEC stadium I've been too, but over all it's a great atmosphere. The only seating I didn't like was the one time I sat at the top of one end zone. Parking is not too bad. It's not luxury but a good old school vibe. Pasadena is also a great city.

Takes forever to get to your seat. I never went to piss so I'm not sure about the bathrooms. I thought the seats were good. The lighting wasn't all that great.
....with that said, the atmosphere was incredible for me personally. Just being in the Rose Bowl was cool for me, and if you can appreciate that, and not be a snob about the little things, you'll have a blast.
