Bama should be higher because of their recruiting budget. It should be illegal to have that much money to play with. The state also has it's fair amount of talent.

I think Tenn is where they should be right now. I would assume heralds into account more than just the school. Their high school talent is pretty terrible.

Sorry but the "Aggies are weird" justification for ranking us lower is just stupid. College Station is also a nicer college town than many on his list. He admits we are currently out recruiting his #1 as well and A&M actually has superior facilities now, a better stadium and fanbase, comparable money, and are in a FAR better conference. You can come up with reasons to rate A&M lower but his reasoning is terrible.
This isn't to say Texas shouldn't rate highly, they should. It's just a stretch to overlook how far the BDF has fallen and to consider the LHN a positive for recruiting. All the LHN means is you have 2 or 3 games a year that no one sees, kids want to be on ESPN and not LHN.
UF also should be higher. Michigan and Stanford should be higher. Ohio State should not be #2.
Either pick the list based on how it should be regardless of current performance (meaning location, facilities, conference, etc.) or don't. Mixing it just loses credibility.

It's not a terrible list, but it's placing way too much importance on local talent in an era where top programs can recruit nationally, or, at the very least, regionally. It's silly to knock Georgia for not being able to hold onto local talent without sufficiently rewarding programs like ND and Bama for being able to steal local talent from other places. If UGA is being downgraded because other teams are raiding them, then the teams that are raiding them (Bama and Auburn, for instance) should be bumped higher. Both are too low, and Texas is too high simply because they get a slew of recruits but they also miss on a slew of them because teams like TAMU, Oklahoma, and even LSU steal them away. Recruiting's no longer as simple as the guy is making it here.

I've known JC for years, he's actually a bit of a Gamecock fan. His list is not bad, but it could use some tweaking.

I think Alabama's in- state pool is underrated even when considering Auburn will get a share.
