I can't believe we're even having this discussion

About whether a Big 10 Champ should get in ahead of an SEC Champ. I don't care that one might have a loss and the other might not.
Have people forgotten that the SEC has won the last 7 national championships? The man vs. boys "game" between Bama and ND last year; an ND team that had already beaten the Big 10's best?
And this Ohio St. team isn't even a dominant Big 10 team. They allowed over 600 yards to a Michigan team who is 3-5 in conference. Northwestern had Ohio St. on the ropes and ended up 1-7 in the Big 10. Even Cal who went 0-9 in the Pac-12, racked up over 500 yards of total offense.

2013 Auburn isn't that good though. Does anybody think they're as good as 2006 Florida or 2007 LSU much less a 2008 Florida, 2009 Alabama, 2011 Alabama or 2011 LSU?

Part of the issue here is, every other conference should be against a 1 loss SEC team jumping OSU. If the SEC's perceived superiority allows it to happen in this scenerio, whats to stop it from happening over an undefeated team from one of the other conferences. They will not allow that precedent to be set.

2013 is better than 2013 Ohio State.
Thats all that should matter

We heard that in 2010 as well after the IB.

Also that the SEC was down in 2010 even though it was the best year in the history of the SEC West from top to bottom.

The playoff would be perfect to start this season.

As an Auburn fan, I'm a little used to the BCS screwing us out of chances to win the ship. They've been doing it since the 80's. (I'm aware the "BSC" part of that came later)
All of this isn't even surprising me.
I would like to see Auburn play for it, but if we don't, this season is still going to be amazing, and I'll watch FSU beat the breaks off of OSU with a smile on my face...

I think you gotta give the SEC champion a shot. Until an SEC team loses in the big game, they deserve a shot every year. Would suck for the streak to end without Auburn or Mizzou even getting a shot.

By this logic.
2013 Alabama is better then 2013 Auburn.
Thats all that should matter? Or should the games played count?

2013 Auburn couldn't beat a 9-3 LSU this year so dial it back a notch.

Ya, its ridiculous to think that a one loss team would jump an undefeated one.

Auburn is a much better team now than then though.

2013 Auburn would make a meal of 2013 Ohio State. But Florida State? Maybe a different story.

Normally I'd agree, 1 lost SEC is better than an undefeated that had a patsy schedule.
BUT... this Auburn team is exactly two "miracle" plays from being a 3-loss team. That's not exactly the SEC credentials that earn you a spot over a major conference undefeated.
