"And Manziel, the first player to win the Heisman Trophy is even better this season, LSU coach Les Miles said."

I still don't understand how things like this aren't caught before articles are posted....
Every damn day.
Do little inaccuracies like this annoy the crap out of anybody else?

It's Miles, he probably actually said that because he thinks its true

Probably meant to type "First freshman to ever win the Heisman."

They annoy me.
I even cringe at the mistakes made in [what seems like] 90% of the threads on this board.
But I have issues.

In fairness to Les, it doesn't look like a direct quote but a screwup by a reporter who has no business reporting sports. And where the hell was the editor?

YES! And I echo EKG's "I have issues". But they're respectable issues.

Is this even thread worthy? I mean c'mon...

I'm guilty of the same.
Especially when I make the error

"The Heisman Trophy winner from last year, Johnny Manziel, is bigger, faster, stronger," Miles said. "He's thrown for 3,300 yards, 31 touchdowns. I see him as a much more complete quarterback, a very good player. If there's a better player in college football, I'd like to know who he is."

I got upset when an espn article said TJ ran for 164 yards against MSU when in reality it was 160. He also said it was his second highest total this season when it was actually his first. I get upset too easily.

Yeah, even I mile did say this, every respectable reporter in America would have written "first (freshman) player to win heisman"... Or they wouldn't have called it out at all...
People don't often continue to do interviews with people like that.

I am not an idiot. I know what the author was trying to say, and I know that the error was not a part of the quote.
I was expressing my (admittedly somewhat irrational) hatred of the media allowing typos etc into their finished work.
