No excuses! He is NOT the guy we need. When he had three rushing at the end of the game to shut them

Doubt he'll be fired, but he needs to be.

Regardless of his mediocre performance, he's way overpaid for the results he has put on the field.

38 points and a loss.

How much is Auburn's defensive coordinator getting paid?

So the argument is that we could save $500,000 a year and get the same results..

What would we do with the extra $500,000?

Nothing.

It's not like we are hurting for money right now.

We could take Saban for $10m a year right now and build a brand new indoor practice facility, and not even bat an eyelash.

I want Michigan State's DC and Stanford's OC. Richt can stay but he has to realize that with good coaching, a team can completely turn around in one year!

Doesn't matter what we spend the money on.

He's delivering results of a <= $500k coach and making much more than that. It's a waste, especially for a penny-pinching administration like UGA.

My only question is how long can we live with mediocrity?

I know we've had our fair share of chances and fallen short and we've been screwed by the voters too .

I do not think CTG is a good fit. No more excuses for being young on D and no more excuses that start "Well if we would've just executed...."

As long as Richt is our coach Bobo will always be our coordinator. I think CTG could be fired but that won't happen this year, unfortunately.

Regardless, our inability to coach up the talent we get year in and year out is inexcusable and laughable.

It seems we will have to endure several years of sucking to see a coaching change or a lucky year where it all comes together and we win a natty.

The athletic department and boosters have already proven they are happy with 9 or 10 win seasons and we as fans have no say in any of this.

Dawg fan for life, just sucks that accepting mediocrity comes with the territory.

Gotta say again.. our offense has been pretty much lights out the past few years.

Our defense has been mediocre at best in a league where defenses have been so crucial.

No. He's goddamn terrible.

My point was the salary differential between the two.

We've lived with it for almost 30 years? So, the likely answer is "We can live with mediocrity forever."

Maybe we should float a compromise. Cut his salary in half and tell him to simplify the system to something his 19 year olds can handle. Tell him he gets the other half back ONLY if his D dominates next year. Gives him one last chance and some benefit of the doubt about this year's youthfulness. Would never happen but you'd get his attention.

He should've cut his playbook in half (at least) after last season.

What rational person would expect freshmen and first-time starters to be able to master so many plays in college from the get-go?

He should've trimmed it down and then added plays as they got comfortable with the first set. That's what they do on offense; you call plays based on the players on the field.

Probably so, but if he is, then we know for sure that Richt isn't serious about being a winning HC for us.

I second this motion.

I know this year, UGA is starting something like 8 freshman, but let's look at his body of work.

Last year he had 8 NFL caliber starters, and Georgia gave up lots of points and sometimes to some really bad teams.

Even in the bowl game, the defense still looked like they didn't know what they were doing.

It takes him forever to make adjustments.

His defenses grade out at an F which really hurts when the offense grades at an A.
