Damn, he's a guy AU needs to stick around.

I want Mason to stick around, but it would be in his best interest to declare this year, considering the depth of next year's class.

Robinson is going nowhere this year. He'll be a top take next year IMO.

Not sure. It's hard to turn down a first round projection.

what does this mean?... across all positions?

if robinson ends up going early, really wish we'd have locked up Dontavius Blair when we had the chance.

He's saying he has Greg Robinson 22 overall? If so, I retract my statement. I just find it hard to believe he's projected in the first round right now. Talk about a huge jump in the course of a few months if true.

i guess that's what he's saying... I don't necessarily know that I'm buying it... it doesn't have ideal LT size and may project better at guard.

really want dismukes and robinson to stick around for selfish reasons obviously...

I took it as #22 offensive lineman. No way is he a first round pick.

Yes. He put G-Rob on his newest big board on ESPN insider. Here is kk tweeting about it yesterday

And Kiper's blurb about G-Rob
quote:

A gifted high school player who many saw as a guard, Robinson started at left tackle in the SEC as a redshirt freshman, and held his own. This year, he's been dominant, with increased strength making him closer to that complete package as a left tackle. He moves really well with a powerful lower half which makes him tough to push backward, has long arms and delivers a punch. He gets a good push in the run game and can get out in front. Could become a special player at tackle.

thought he'd project him more as a guard, but Kiper is sold on him as a OT it appears.... he's listed at 6-5/305 on AU's website... seems pretty light for a 1st round NFL tackle.

imo, losing dismukes would probably hurt more than GR. Not that we're hurting for depth on the OL at the moment... still wish we'd take a run at JUCO OT Blair.

I expected it next year, but in no way did I see him projecting that high this early. Somehow I think 2nd/3rd round is a lot more realistic. AU needs him and Dismukes to stay put for a legitimate shot at a run next year.

I guess we should expect a full flanking on Sharpe if the coaches sense a possibility of a declaration.

This. Great for our guys, but couldn't the credit just wait one more year?

We return everyone next year and no one declares early for the draft, we should make a SERIOUS run at the NC. In fact I would not pick any team over us as more likely. If no underclassmen declare. Esp GRob and Reese.

Agree. I've heard from people that his understanding of OLine play is off the charts and is a genius for a center (which is surprising if you ever met him)

Also, he has had back problems throughout high school and stuff so I have always wondered if his internal clock is ticking in terms of taking advantage of his relative health now. That said, there is no "immediate" need for money at the moment so it will be interesting to see how it plays out

If we lose GRob I find it hard to believe that we don't make a run at Blair. I also find it hard to believe that he doesn't flip considering his connections with Auburn and I believe he grew up a fan

the problem with that could be timing... if GR declares in Jan, Blair would already be enrolled nad taking classes at UT.

this is all speculation, though... who knows how it will play out over the next few weeks/months... Kiper isn't the be all/end all and they could get much different grades from true NFL scouts.

I'm betting both guys will be told that they could benefit from another successful year of college ball... not that it'll keep them in school, though.

Kiper has him at 320 lbs FWIW

As for Dismukes, centers do not usually leave early due to the low values the draft places on centers. I hope that holds true here.

G Rob at #22 overall

Recruiting should pick up a little if we start sending guys to the first round.

Sure it would help. But a NC run next year would be even more valuable. Stay put G-rob, stay put.
