The verdict on Coach Miles complete, even though the book not finished?

An OP just a few minutes ago (whacked for some odd reason, not sure why) assumed the Miles/Saban back and forth over, tDecline real. It certainly seems the case to many, particularly to many of faithful on TD. I don't know if this is due to a lack of through thick and thin, an attention span not easily kept, or that the sentiment is what is simply true. Coach Miles has at least 4 more seasons here, so much can happen, for good or for bad.
To me the problem is:
1) some guys not playing their hardest, taking naps during the game...in short motivation.
2) Talent. The guys taking the place of those who left early are simply not as good, on the D side.
3) A problem within the program that I can't quite put my finger on, can't put into words properly. It was demonstrated during the most disappointing part of the UA game (for me). The last series the OL simply bailed on Zach. When he was hurt on last play it seemed only one guy made a half hearted attempt to help him up. The trainers appeared to be on break. When Mett did get up, it looked like he purposely walked away from Miles.
Perhaps I'm making too much of it, but I really think the next 2 weeks is critical for CLM's tenure. Are the guys going to play with fire, run the ball hard and finish strong against A&M, Hogs and bowl opponent?
My case for optimism:
1)What is lost in all the fire starting is that our O has improved by leaps and bounds, as a whole. There is every reason to think this will continue, despite some losses to NFL, due to Coach Cameron having more time in, the guys having more time with him.
2) There is not one junior on the D side that has any business leaving early. More experience coming back, plus another year older and stronger will be a boon for 2014.
3) A strong finish (a bowl win is critical, to reverse the current trend) would set the stage to take a good run at in 2014.
Thoughts? More just wanted to get it out of my system but opinions are of course welcome.

Anthony Johnson will leave along with Ego Fergeson Thats two DTs along with Loston, a Sr and the starting Safety. That will be 3 starters that leave on the defense.
I think the defense will continue to struggle until 2013-2014 recruiting classes get bigger and more experience.

You should have been clued in last year when so many players left who had no business leaving and should have been sticking around, working hard to improve their draft status. Something is wrong with that program from the inside. I have no clue what it is, but Miles needs to focus on that and the rest will fall back into place.

Yeah I know. From what I've seen, that's a mistake. Late draft round, a good chance to get cut. I understand the paycheck, I really do. I just hope they consider upping their stock first.

Yeah, three starters that have been huge disappointments. It may very well be an "addition by subtraction" situation. Gilmore and herron have to step up, however.
Les will have lost me if he drops the ball on this recruiting class

I think so to and I think it goes back to JJ, Tyran, some other things. Wins kept the lid on it...but something is amiss. The toughest part of the HC job isn't X's and O's, nor recruiting. It's the keeping everyone on the same page part. Les has his work cut out. I'm hoping he steps up and handles it (and to be blunt, he needs to look in the mirror first).

Maybe this is just a Bama 2010 type year for ya'll?
I hope so, the SEC is a better place when LSU and Bama are both elite.

Massive.
If we drop one to A&M and drop the bowl game, it will/might have serious impacts for the future.

I'm banking, on the O side, that the allure of Coach Cameron will help. On the D side the selling point is easy "We need help, if you are good enough you'll start freshman year"

No. It is much more than W/L, than stats. It's about playing with a champions heart. Mett has it. Copeland has it. Some others. But there's quite a few that do not, and that shite has to get fixed.

Agreed! This is all that matter now for LSU Football fans.

The NFL changing their rookie pay scale could have a lot to do with it. Now, there's not nearly as much difference between being a 1st rounder or a 3rd rounder.

Hit the nail on the head.
I was at the game and it was painful to watch.

It's funny you say that. I have sensed division on that staff and in that locker room since 21-0 in the LSD for the BCS Title. I am no conspiracy theorist but something was not right with that game nor has it been RIGHT since.
Inmates running the asylum? Coaches turning a blind eye and it coming home to roost? It's definitely something.

I think it might be before bowl game, back to the beginning of 2011. Maybe even before. Wins can keep a lid on stuff. A lid easily removed. jmo

Bama is badass. Broke the teams will at the end. So what, Les Miles got punked by Saban. It happens. Saban is the best coach in the game.

Personally I agree; The SEC is stronger when LSU is playing their best. If LSU is' nt respected, then ESPN/ ABC would not spend millions to showcase all the LSU and Bama Talent on the field. We pick at you guys on here, but I for one want to see LSU succeed.
