It's really getting out of hand.

Not by a long shot. We lost most of out starters on defense from the previous season so I thought this team would have 3 or 4 losses.
2007 was probably the most disappointing season for me. We had Stafford, Moreno, A.J. Green, MoMass & Co. Yea, we owned Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl and looked like world beaters but an embarrassing loss to SC in Sanford Stadium and got blown out by a mediocre UT in Neyland Stadium ended our chances for national title contention. Meanwhile an LSU team with 2 losses, to Kentucky and Arkansas in OT, beat up on the Ohio St. punching bag. That could have been us if we had just taken care of business @ home vs SC. Our problem as usual was inadequate defense. We always seem to have at least one game a year when either the offense and/or defense doesn't show up.

So true. An unbelievable amount of talent squandered. But as has often been the case, defense was periodically worthless.
The story of Richt at UGA has been a story of missed opportunities. We've just not had a coaching staff capable of putting all the pieces together and taking care of business through an entire season.

2008 was far more disappointing.

The list is pretty decent outside of this...I mean, losing to Bama at the 5 yard line was heartbreaking, but did not result in a disappointing year. Especially because the expectations were set low early.

2012, while having a gut wrenching ending, wasn't disappointing.

Just the total bummer that was the title game and how bad that USCe game was. Not totally blaming him for the SECCG but it has to be on the list cause part of my soul died that day.
