Because he wants to win National Championships at 3 different schools to satisfy his ego. Miles will be glad because it will make him look less retarded than he really is, plus Saban's absence in Tuscaloosa will throw Bama in to the dark ages and his mere presence in Austin will suck the state of Texas dry of recruits which theoretically weakens A&M. This is the best news LSU and it's mediocre and hapless head coach could ever have hoped for.

LSU fans should feel better since Bama would be Saban's second bride to be left at the altar.

Another consideration is that Saban can't go out in public without being swamped by window-licking Bama fans. Going to Austin would be like getting out of prison.
