spurrier is too old,
richt just can't put it all together
muschamp is about to explode veins in his head
stoops, who knows? too young
james franklin could be a pick
pinkel, forget it
bielema another maybe, but no
mahlzahn, don't like the high school offense otherwise he seems ok

I'll take him.
Franklin next.
Then Spurrier's old successful arse.
Then Malzahn (maybe he should be higher up the list, Gus Bus is rolling)
Then maybe Butch's guido arse.

To be fair, Miles would be good for one national title. He does his best work with Saban players.

Les miles, I would then hope he was fired after winning a mnc with Saban's players.
That was a good one. I hate both of you, but well played. :)

Freeze would be a good selection. I doubt Bama could do much better choosing only from the SEC. Les is successful, but I don't see him as a good fit at Bama. Richt doesn't have the necessary drive and, let's face it, the ability to close the deal. Muschamp would be a good fit but the jury's still out on how great a coach he is (very good, imho, but I'm not a jury.) Franklin and Sumlin are also good coaches, but Sumlin still has lots to prove, i.e. can he maintain success without fortuitous quarterback inheritances? and Franklin belongs to Vandy, so no touching. That basically leaves SOS, who's getting old, and Gus, who absolutely isn't a good fit for Bama in terms of coaching style and philosophy because places like Bama and LSU don't need to rely on his gimmickry with their recruiting pool (and he still has much to prove concerning whether he's even a great long-term HC.) If I'm Bama, and the BoT decides to hamstring me by forcing me to pick a current SEC coach, I'd probably put Freeze at the top of my list. He suffers from from some of the disadvantages Gus suffers from, but I think he's a very fundamentally sound coach once you look past that stuff.

Bret Bielema, not joking

Kirby Smart - He has stayed with Bama this long even though he honestly could have a great job in a great market if we wanted. Give him the keys to the empire if he sticks around long enough for Saban to retire.
James Franklin and David Shaw are the others I would take.
Anyone else and I'd be very disappointed.

Coaches seem to do well when they go to BAMA after some time at LSU
