Mettenberger looked better than Murray yesterday, and with a lot less protection I might add. I'm not sure Murray was even touched the entire game

It's a sad day if James Franklin is in the top half of the SEC.

Maybe he had something to do with that? Checking to the right protection, finding his receivers quickly or checking out of bad plays?

McCarron is supremely mediocre but with Shaw out there's no one to really challenge him for the 4th spot.

Except the last 2 minutes of the game. Which kind of puts Murray ahead.

He was not. Mett however was sacked at least 4 times. Part of that is protection, part of that is Murray can move and throw well outside the pocket whereas Mett cannot.

I tend to think our DL had something to do with it also

Your DL also had a fantastic INT and a few tipped passes. They weren't total garbage.

I obviously don't want to stop people from bashing McCarron because I do understand how much people enjoy that, however the offensive line has been really poor in general. All of Bama's offensive weapons are being wasted as they're losing battles in the trenches. The only good game they've played on offense is against the Aggies and that defense is awful.

Murray had a lot more time than Mett, can make a bit of a difference. Let's not forget with under 8 minutes to play Mett led us right down the field for the go ahead TD too.

Mett outplayed Murray yesterday, but both QBs played great games. I think Mett definitely gets the nod for yesterday not only for better stats, but as said, Mett got pressured more than Murray and still played better. Granted I will say Mett took 2 unnecessary sacks, so he should have been sacked twice, not four times.

Hey, lets not get carried away here as LSU fans. Mett is playing GREAT this year. Yesterday was a tough road loss but Mett was lights out with the situation that was presented to him. Murray was also outstanding and showed why he is a top SEC QB.

My list...

1a Murray
1b Mett

3 Mr improv JFF

4 That Bama QB

THE REST.....

It think it's wonderful that Murray finally wins a big game and shoots up to the #2 spot on the strength of not blowing it for once. It's a magical process.

If you're going to run with the DL pressure line, I'm going to go with the line that UGA has an average at absolute best defensive backfield.

Both QBs faced the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing defense. Both QBs had great weapons to rely on and utilize. At the end of the game, Murray had two more TDs to his name than Mett. Murray was able to lead his team down the field and score whereas Mett couldn't get LSU into field goal range. That's not to say that Mett isn't a great quarterback; Zach Mettenberger is easily one of the best in the country and should be respected - if not feared - by opposing defenses. But yesterday he had the misfortune of having to be compared to a quarterback just as good, if not better (which, given Murray's 45 games worth of experience, should be expected and accepted as inevitable).
