The only reason Saban would leave is either he wants to show he can do it 1 more time and be the greatest coach in history or he wants to show he can make it in the NFL.

One more NC and you can probably chisel his name into the books as one of the greatest to ever coach the game. Pretty close now. With the machine running at full process now at Bama, he can be in the running every year for a title which I think would be hard to walk away from. I personally think he is going to ride off into the sunset in T-Town while probably getting some hefty raises and bonuses along the way. I bet he will retire before he hits 70 though.

Why would Saban want to start over when he has already built his dynasty at the best CFB program ever ?

He stays and he gets mentioned with the Bear , he goes to Texas and he gets mentioned with Darryl Royal....

If I were LSU I would be worried about losing Les Miles to Texas.

Either way it's bad for LSU. After Bama matches Texas's offer, Miles will demand a huge raise to keep pace. They will have to pay Miles more to keep him.

Overwhelming feeling from the Texas boards is Miles is not a candidate. Although his agent may leverage the position for a raise.

Just another Bama pay raise for Saban if they do.

ANY sort of trouble comes his way
Yeah bud... Usually when trouble comes his way he finds a way to not let that trouble repeat itself.
He lost to La Monroe then he lost to Florida in the 2008 SEC championship only to be embarrassed by Utah in the Sugar- followed that up with a BCS Natty the following year by destroying Tebow/Myer in a revenge match and then giving Bama it's first ever victory over the Texas Longhorns in the Rose Bowl.

He lost to A&M last year. Not this time around.

the kind of money Texas has been rumored to throw at him,

2 years ago after Bama beat LSU in NO for the Natty, Texas made a BIG run at him. You see how that ended, right? Another Natty for Bama the following year embarassing Notre Dame in Miami.

The last time Alabama gave up 40+ points was 2003, you don't think that'll be on his mind?
See above responses. This is very unlikely to happen again.

Let's not forget people have been saying ever since Saban arrived in T-town he wouldn't be here but a few years. Never been anywhere longer than 5, that is until last year where it was his 6th at Bama. Oh and this one which is his 7th.

One day Saban will be gone and the haters can rejoice but as a Bama fan I'm riding this damn wave and loving every minute of it particularly when jealous envious haters cannot stand the ride Bama is on.

Saban made LSU a stepping stone to build the greatest college football programs in history. It will be decades before the hurt wears off.

if saban says "i will not be the next coach at _____" then you should become wary of the moving truck coming

Yeah, I agree, UT at least offers. People are crazy to suggest they won't offer. They'll make a pass at him via his agent.

IMO though, their best choice would be Art Briles. He has Baylor, +BAYLOR+, looking scary. He's from Texas, was a Texas HS coach, and has all the connections. Granted, he's a liiiiitle on the old side, and he is prickly and un-media friendly, but he's also a real coach, which they need to whip those spoiled brats into shape. He'd come for cheaper and stick around longer than Saban, who may well not be interested anyway. I guarantee Briles would ditch Baylor for UT.

Alabama cost you the 2012 and 2013 BCS National Championships. LSU hasn't prevented Alabama from doing squat. 2010? Nope, Alabama was dominated by South Carolina, and Oregon and TCU were undefeated. If Alabama lost to Auburn, then Auburn would have have been undefeated too.
2009? Alabama won and finished the season undefeated.
2008? Alabama went 12-0 and fell at the hands of Florida, the eventual national champions.
2007? Alabama finished that season 7-6 and had to vacate their first 5 wins.

Actually no, they won't. DeLoss Dodds runs the program at Texas and the money men behind him. Period. Bill Powers is even afraid of Dodds, for every other school you had the President of the school talking about re-alignment but at Texas it was Dodds. He has to have more dirt on people hidden in a safe than J Edgar Hoover.

DKR didn't even run the show at Texas after he won 3 NC's. They pushed him out in his prime. You simply cannot understate the arrogance level of the folks in Austin. They have 1 Natty in the last 40+ years but still consider themselves far and away the greatest program in the history of college football.

Texas also has the LHN which requires a level of exposure Saban would NEVER put up with. Multiple weekly coaches shows. Cameras all over practice. Players and coaches with constant TV commitments.

I have no doubt Texas will make a run at Saban. I also wouldn't be surprised if Saban took their call so he can get yet another monster raise out of Bama. In the end though, the fit isn't there.

aggressor, you need to update your information. Dodds is on his way out. He's capute. He will be replaced before Mack and Mack is done too.

Your info on DKR is wrong too. DKR was past his prime when he left and he wasn't run out. He went 5-5-1 his last season. He admitted later that his attention to detail had suffered after the death of his daughter, a few years earlier.

Now back to the Saban talk. Its pure speculation what will happen, but for the time being, the athletic administration is totally neutered. The Sabin talk is driven by a few big time boosters who know Sabin on a personal basis. There has been contact with Sabin's agent, who is receptive somewhat. Powers & Dodds are both on the outside now. They are no longer the power brokers and a younger generation of "monied" men are having more influence. But with UT's cash, their influence will be somewhat diluted. The old Mack supporters like Joe Jamail & Red McCombs are running out of time & energy. Like at A&M, the young turks are making their move.

The rest of your post I chalk up to biased Aggie perception, which I understand completely and have reciprocal emotions. Oh & keep watching LHN. You seem to know a lot about it. :)

I'll assume you mean for 2011/2012 seasons. 2011 no doubt. 2012? I doubt seriously LSU beats UGA. Considering the O performance against Clemson, I have no doubt we lose to UGA. LSU may have cost UGA by not stopping that last AJ series.
