At this rate Alabama will completely ruin the A&M football program

The Aggies have so much riding on this weekend. So much so that the future of their entire program depends on the outcome of this game. They have all of their biggest recruits in town. Sumlin is zipping around in a "swagocopter" and morale in Aggie land is at an all time high. Fans are buying up hotel rooms. And people are taking out second mortgages in order to purchase a ticket. All of this for a team that has given them absolutely no reason to believe they can even hang with the Crimson Tide for half of a quarter. After an extensive film review of the Aggies first two games of the season I saw what I'm sure many die hard Aaggies have in the back of their mind. That this team is setting the fan base up for a massive crash and burn. The team is a nearly identical but less talented overall version of the A&M squads that The Old Ball Coach (Bobby Petrino) used as a sacrificial offering to Jerry Jones for three strait years. If there is one thing I've learned about football throughout my long and storied tenure it is that Aggies will ALWAYS be Aggies. Every single time that program comes relatively close to success they shite the bed like an end stage alcoholic on Dulcolax. Being Born and raised a Razorback fan I have at least some sense of understanding of how heartbreaking emotionally attaching yourself to a football program can be. Admittedly though our/my experiences are not nearly as heartbreaking as those that have always been synonymous wit A&M; we have at least had some success to offset the failures, and additionally we appear to be more rational and less cultist as a fan base.
Aggie brethren I pray you heed this warning. Lower your expectations. Have a good dinner tonight, listen to your shitty rap concert, have a couple of beers out on the town, you know enjoy yourself and the atmosphere, but whatever you do, do not continue to emotionally invest yourself in this football game or season at the same rate as has become the norm. When you get drunk tonight and tomorrow morning think about something normal like women or good food, not Aggie football or tradition. I fear the meltdown that is almost certain to accompany a game of this magnitude. Personally I've never had a problem with Texas A&M ,neither has our school or it's football program, so I want you guys to stick around for as long as Texas will let you. In order for you to do that you must lower your expectations.
Heed this warning.

Not true. Just being in this game is a big step for them. Couple that with Texas being down and their move to the SEC, 'bout as good as it gets for them, regardless of the outcome. They'll be fine either way.

I would say the same thing if it was LSU instead of Bama.
P.S.

I have no dog in this fight, but the advice is excellent.

It was directed at the Aggies and they will read it. Hopefully they will heed the warning it's just a game.

That is how I ended up realizing in 2006 when Alabama crashed and burned under SHula...it simply wasnt worth all of the emotion I was putting into it. I was like...god almighty, its just a dang football game..but then again after seeing EVERY SINGLE STINKING PLAY the same damn thing (Darby up the middle, Darby up the middle, Darby up the middle, PUNT PUNT PUNT!) I was so exhausted I almost gave up on Alabama football entirely by not just sitting back and trying to enjoy a football game and not making it mean so damn much. Of course since the Dark Lord Saban has arrived, Ive rather enjoyed my new arrogant expectation self .
