Is Christion Jones the returner we've been looking for?

No one expects him to do what he did a few weeks ago. Is he an electric returner or was that a one game thing?

He's what we've been looking for. He looks bigger, faster, and even quicker. He had some good blocks sure, but every good return man does.

Has he really done anything outside of the VT game? I know some people on here where calling for a change in the kick and punt return game this off-season. I tend to believe he got very lucky in ATL, but can still be a useful return man for us. I don't think fans should start expecting big plays from him on the regular.

Well, yeah. He's been solid pretty much every game as a returner. Never loses yards, and consistently gets yards.

Explain?

Somewhere in the middle. I think he's a good return man, not ready to label him "electric" quite yet.

He had a problem with fumbling and bad decision making last year. Both are fixable.

How many times did he fumble last year? I only remember one.

The Kick return, I believe it was, where he was all but tackled than escaped somehow out the side. That was certainly talent, but luck too. Every return man gets lucky, good blocks. Outside of the Ole Miss return last year, which I had completely forgot about, I don't remember Jones doing anything too special. Maybe, and hopefully, I'm wrong and the VT game was a sign of greatness to come. But some of the fans on here who were looking for a change in the return department as recently as about a month ago does not give me a lot of confidence.

I'm still not sold. The blocking looked really good and VT just didn't tackle him on that KO return.
I was really high on him going into last year, but he just didn't do much. I mean, he's a "good", solid player, but I don't expect him to really stand out. I don't think he's shifty enough for punt returns and I don't think he's fast enough for kick returns.
Maybe I'm wrong. He did well in the first game.

He lost one. The refs bailed him out against Arkansas and another went out of bounds.
ETA: To answer the OP, I don't think he is the kind of return guy teams purposefully kick away from, but he is good enough to make them pay if their kick coverage isn't good.

IMO, he got bailed out against Notre Dame also. That's my biggest gripe with him, at times he tries to do too much (playing the ball off the bounce and stuff like that). He even had a crazy moment against Va Tech.
However, he was beyond solid in his debut as a return guy in the BCS game in New Orleans. When Maze got nicked up, I was like oh crap. CJ22 stepped in and handled the job like a vet.

I might be wrong, but I think that they are taught to play it off the bounce like that if they can.

yeah, true.
and being that as it may, he only lost one fumble last year, though. I can live with that.

He wouldn't have lost his job as PR first to Dee and later to Cyrus if he had been doing a satisfactory job last year. That said, his issues were fixable and I'm hopeful they have been which is why he's the PR again.

Is this the same guy who seemingly muffed every punt, or was that the other Jones?

He backtracked and lost like 10 yards on one of VT punts in the first half

The refs got that call right.
He called fair catch and bobbled.
When a fair catch is called, you can't touch the player or the ball until the ball hits the ground.
Notre Dame did both

Maybe it's just my reading of it, but you sound like a dickhead directly contradicting my posts. Especially when you're completely wrong.
ND #8 hits C Jones and the ball around 11:38

He's better than Brandon Brooks but he isn't in the same stratosphere as javy.
Arenas was electric. He was more likely to gain 25 yards without being touched than anyone we've had. Christion breaks tackles like javy but is more on cut and go than make you miss.
