All you have to do is be better then last year. The same is true for LSU and USCe. Georgia will not be better then last year and neither will aTm. Bama is bama. I don't know how much better they can get, but their schedule is a joke. So by simple deduction, their is only 4 teams in contention in my mind.

Florida
LSU
USCe
Bama.

The rest are out. Sorry guys.

But that is exactly the core of both badger and GC's points in this thread right now.

Oh save me the generalization talk, I already said I wasn't trying to do that. LSU fans are the most generalized group on this entire site.

I just clicked on your team board and found the very first prediction thread. It just happened to be created by the site's biggest homer.

But if you're that concerned about being generalized, it must mean there are some in your fanbase who don't share the same thoughts or opinions of others. After all, that's what generalization means. Taking a small sample of a group and using that sample's opinions to label the whole group. Now, prove me wrong and show me these "others" who were concerned about that retarded good Hokie defense. There are plenty LSU fans who expected blowouts and are now eating crow for it.

Dreaux I actually agree. Georgia probably falls out after this well. They and the Aggies have great offenses, but when is the last time a team with a bad defense won the Sec? Auburn in 2010 was the worst I've seen and they weren't as bad.

Preseason expectations are meaningless because we do not know what is going to happen or how the team looks. All we have to look at is how they performed last year.

Va tech was 7-6 last year.
TCU was 7-6 last year.

Vtechs injuries were primarily on offense. We shut them down handily. They had two injuries on defense: one linebacker and one cornerback.

We underestimated them, admittedly. Probably in much the same way your team underestimated Clemson. Only difference is we still came out with a win.

Ok then. So explain to me why after basically failing to meet expectations and winning a close game against an average Big 12 team, LSU should definitely be considered better than Bama who completely destroyed an average ACC team.

The expectation we failed to meet were the ones about our defense sucking. i think they did pretty good. Giving up only 20 points 7 of which came of a fumble in the redone.

TCU's offense >>>>>>>VaTech

TCU's defense - slidge edge or push at the least.

Virginia Tech's offense is dog shite. They only had 4 returning starters. Lost their WR core. They lost their starting TE. A linemen they needed. Lost both of their returning RB's from last year.

TCU basically has them beat at almost every position on offense. QB, RB's, OL, WR.

USC, Bama, LSU in the top three is fine at this point. Florida and UGA should be ranked ahead of Ole Miss. I can't tell much yet about the teams below Ole Miss but ahead of KY - but yeah KY looks terrible

If we're going by just week 1 there's no way you can say alabama put together as complete a game as LSU did. You just can't.
Bama played a legit team. TCU is not a BCS school, no matter how hard Texas tries to portray them.

So a complete team according to this jackass list was USC who had:

406 total yards on UNC and gave up 293. USC only had 178 passing.

Meanwhile, Bama, #2 on this list, had 209 yards of O. Though their D is deserving of #1 ranking.

Then you have LSU who played a RANKED TEAM and won. LSU had: 448 total yards for a yearly ranked D and only surrendered 256 yards. Meanwhile, LSU put up 251 passing and 197 rushing.

AND THEN you have the nerve to put UF that low....

ATM has a shite D.

LIST IS SHITE

Ranked schmanked. First week rankings mean shite. TCU is not a legitimate team. LaMonroe is better. ESPN is just pimping their stupid longhorn network. Va Tech beats TCU by 15.

Yet V Tech was a 7-6 team in the ACC....

TCU returns far more on their team than VT did.

You can't even begin to put together a logical argument without bama Shades on.

I don't see LSU fans claiming TCU was the 2nd coming, but of that list, TCU was the best win on paper AFTER week 1.

WHICH WAS THE POINT OF THE LIST.......

I think most expect Saban whips Bama's O into shape......

1. South Carolina

USC appears to be the SEC's most complete team after dominating an average ACC team in every phase, especially in the trenches. With an elite defense, a formidable offensive line, a legendary coach, and skill position stars... South Carolina has formally arrived as an elite SEC team and BCS title contender.

2. Alabama

A potential major weakness was exposed from that young offensive line against an average-at-best ACC team, but they are still the 2-time defending champs and they still have Saban. If anyone can work out the kinks, it's Bama.

I thought y'all said it wasn't going to matter? Still going to be the best offensive line in the country? I thought that Saban always fields the best offensive line in the country?
