Let's not go there. There are many unforced errors that Alabama easily couldn't have made. There are several plays that went in Georgia's favor that easily could have been Neutral or not happened.
People assume that Murray's last pass would have been a completion.

On replay the pass didn't looked to be tipped, but UGA's bench really helped sell the call to the refs.
Posted on 8/2/13 at 10:12 pm to RollDawgRoll
There's a reason it didn't look tipped. Every replay went to UGA, didn't matter.

I don't think it was tipped, but McCarron throwing a bit of duck is what really helped sell the play, not necessarily the UGA bench. As for the Lacy fumble at the goal line, I thought on replay that was clearly a fumble as he tried to stretch it out before he reached the goal line.

No way you thought that.
I will give you this, you are entertaining.

I don't want to cheapen the game by arguing about it and simplifying it down to "If this didn't happen then that would have happened".
The simple fact is, those were probably the best two teams in the nation, and they fought like champions. Each time one team did something that seemed to finally finish the other, someone made a play on the other side and brought their team back. Murray, McCarron, Lacy, Ogletree, Fluker, Gurley, Cooper, King, and finally Mosley were there when their team needed them.
Fantastic game.

No I absolutely didn't when the play first happened, but I did on the replay and did again when I rewatched the game. You Bama guys are a rough bunch to deal with, I'm not trying to attack your team and flame them. I'm his in the midst of a long boring work day and now a long, drawn out fantasy draft with plenty to talk about.

Also, partially because I believe your OC falls in love with the pass too much

Holy shite Georgia fans.....? Part Alabama won part Georgia lost?do y'all realize almost every break in the game went y'all's way?
Alabama had to TAKE every single thing they got in the game. Are y'all serious?

I truly believe the thing that kept UGA from being national champs this year was inability to tackle on first contact mostly due to playing the strip first. And probably not rotating the D front more.
Was the best game, end to end, that I have ever witnessed. Far from perfect, both teams seemed to struggle at times but when it came down to it, the good players made the plays they had to. A number of players from either side could have win MVP that night.
It was a battle worth the price of admission.

When you get trampled for 350 on the ground you got beat. Period. UGA was up after the blocked punt and Bama shoved it down their gullets and made them like it.
Wait...are you saying Georgia got dominated? Seriously?
You didn't watch the game at all, did you? You are repeating what someone told you, right?

EXACTLY! Alabama would have had time to get fresh people out on the field and adjust their personnel. And nobody does that better than Alabama. I think Alabama would have stopped us either way...but we will never know.
But nobody can just assume if we had spiked the ball we would have scored. Saying stuff like that is infantile. It was a great game and Alabama won. Period.

It used to be you squared up on a ball carrier and then held him up until someone else could try to strip the ball. Now the first tackler tries to strip and it allows a LOT of broken tackles and long runs. I HATE that part of the game, and Georgia is one of the worst offenders.

The pass was a 3 yard slant to Jones from the slot position as he beat either Swann or Smith badly and then got the other 19 on his own. When I say he didn't have but 2 completions more than 3 yards down field, what I mean is that he didn't actually throw it more than 3 yards initially and the WR did the extra work or a DB faltered.
To the ignorant gump that seems to think we got every break...what in the hell game were you watching? It was really mistakes both ways, but I'd say a missed field goal by UGA, Bama falling on a fumble at it's on 20, McCarron throwing his only decent deep ball on the most important pass of the game, and Murray throwing a horrid pick before the half to gift wrap you 3 more points were all pretty good breaks. You faced multiple 1000 yard rushers last year and Gurley was the only one to run for over 100 I don't think we were "given" anything.
I realize that Bama returns Cooper, Norwood, Bell, and Jones at WR...and? I've already stated Cooper is the best WR in the conference, but nobody else out there is any better than what UGA and LSU bring back.
I realize Jarvis was blocked in the run game very well and the ball was ran right at him, because that's what you do with great pass rushers. That's what LSU did to Clowney. But you cant deny that we rushed the passer well on 5 step drops, 7 step drops, and PA. We had 3 sacks on those type plays that I can recall in limited attempts. The attempts were limited either because the coach's weren't confident in McCarron's ability to throw them effectively or not confident in the ability of the OL to hold off the rush
Go back and watch the game if you want to bitch and moan.

That's the difference between McCarron and Murray. McCarron makes the big throws when they matter in big games. Murray has yet to learn how to do that.

The Bama offensive line got fired up and started run blocking. We began to run the ball very well after that and thank God because it seemed the Bama defense could not stop UGA from driving and scoring. It was quite a conundrum man.

Georgia actually got their azz kicked and were fortunate to be close, 350 yards rushing to 100 pretty much says it all.
If not for the bogus tipped ball call on the interference ( 10-14 point swing ) we blow this game out. When UGA got the ball for the final drive Bama had 512 yards, UGA 305.In my opinion the Bama interception should had stood, no concrete evidence showed the ball hitting the ground. The celebration , followed by the overturned call , had to have an impact on the defense.
As for what you perceived as a wide open WR on the interception, the free saftey saw the ball was short and WENT TO THE BALL, or took a different route , thus the receiver was only wide open because the ball wad not headed his way.
A team that can't stop the run is not a great team.
