Or is Aaron Murray seen more as a product of UGA's success and less of a talent himself? I don't get this scouting reporting and the overall anti-hype that surrounds Murray. I guess get on Bobo's nuts.
quote:

Overall, Murray is just a quarterback that is slightly above average in about every category. He's got an okay arm, he's got okay accuracy, he's got okay feet, but he can't really read defenses well enough to take advantage of what they give him. If you're a 6'1"/6'0" quarterback in the SEC, you have to take everything that the defense gives you. He's just a quarterback that peaked early, won an SEC starting quarterback spot as a freshman, and has been over-hyped the last year.

A scouting report from where??? Oh yea it's a fricking Blogspot blog LINK from a Packers fan who also writes for Bleacher Report, his name is Justis Mosqueda & he's about 16 frickin years old ...Here's his profile...
LINK

How about linking to a reputable scouting report which espouses the concerns you listed in the OP?

I'll wait...

Nice try... Scouting Report my arse...

I've read 7 scouting reports and they range from Superbadass to midget... So I give up.

I just know you fggots know Murray better than anyone & wanna try to keep the hype down too.

There's always Tony Dungy tweeting that he would have taken Murray #1 overall if he had entered the draft but what does he know?

And how could a QB who threw for 41 TD and over 5000 yards in 2011 possibly hurt Murray's draft stock?

I'm the one saying Murray would have been drafted top ten first quarterback... You the dpshts that don't get it... NFL doesn't wanna pay.. Murray's play because at UGA will be undervalued. Or dies he have the same stats at NC State?

No. stafford has no bearing on what murray does in college or where he goes in the nfl.

His stats wouldn't be the same at NC State because they don't have anywhere near the offensive talent that UGA does, but he would have fallen somewhere between what Russell Wilson was and what Mike Glennon was there.

No. Stafford wasn't that good for us. And it's showing in the NFL.

Richt and Bobo groom QBs better than anybody in the country, Murray was just the next guy in line and has done what you'd expect from a UGA QB under this tutelage, especially as the offense has sped up and we've become a bit more pass happy over the last few years.

Stafford hasn't had a bad pro career outside of injuries. He got the Lions to the playoffs and threw for over 5000 yards. Only a few QBs e have ever thrown for over 5000 yards. The Jahvid Best injury and lack of a legitimate 2nd option to throw the ball to killed him last year. Plus, two or three of their losses were directly attributable to the head coach in 2012.

With all that said, I highly doubt anything he does has any effect on Murray's draft status. Murray doesn't have near the talent that Stafford had and don't see how anybody could choose Murray in the first or second round.

I remember on old dawgrant, just ONE year ago......... A thread mentioning the possibility of Murray getting drafted or being a possible Heisman finalist.....would be followed by 5 pages telling you how fricking stupid you were and how Dan Mullen should be our next coach....and how Richt loved Jesus too much to be a HBC, etc.

My how times have changed. I kind of miss it though.

Whatever happened to that douche, NCDawg? fricker was wrong about EVerything he ever commented on. You could set your watch by it.

I dunno, Chrissy - did Tech's consistently miserable performance hurt Calvin Johnson's draft stock?

I actually think the fact that Calvin Johnson was able to put up ANY stats at all (except vs UGA of course) despite having the worst college QB I've ever seen improved his draft status

Lions just did...

Extension between Lions, Stafford very close

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it would be a three-year extension of Stafford’s rookie deal, which currently has two years remaining. And the five-year package would pay Stafford more guaranteed money than the $23.5 million he’s due to earn over the next two seasons combined and Stafford’s franchise tag for 2015, which would be a 20 percent increase over his 2014 cap number.

The guaranteed money alone will be in the range of $43 million.

UPDATE 2:42 p.m. ET:... The three-year extension will be worth $53 million, pushing the five-year total haul to $76.5 million. or $15.3 million a year...

He took the damn LIONS to the playoffs. The same team that was 0-16 the year before they drafted him...

Staffords 1st 4yrs vs four of the current greats 1st 4 years...Not too shabby...

Player - Games Played - Passing Yards - TD / INT - Ratio TD to Int

Aaron Rogers- 23------------ 4367------------29/14--------- 2/1

Drew Brees-- 43------------- 8772----------- -56/38--------- 1.4/1

Tom Brady----48-------------10233-----------69/38--------- 1.8/1

Peyton Manning-64-----------16418----------- -111/79--------- 1.4/1

Matt Stafford-45------------12807------------ -80/54----------- 1.5/1

...oh yeah, Stafford took over literally one of the worst teams in NFL history....
