Most talented football player to go to waste from your favorite team?

For Ole Miss, it'd have to be Dexter Mccluster. It took a year and a half for Nutt to realize he had one of the best backs in the country on his team. After the third game of the 2009 season, Dexter became the starting running back. He finished with over 1,100 yards that season, and I always wonder what could have been if he would have started in 2008 and the beginning of 2009. Honorable mention would be Jevan Snead. I think he had the potential to be great, Nutt and company just fricked him up IMO

Ryan Perilloux is the correct answer.

Ronnie Wingo. Should have been a Safety or a WR. Incredibly gifted athlete but wasted at RB imo.

Wade Christopher comes to mind for me.

It's near insane to call Julio Jones a waste, but his production and ability to dominate a game really went down his sophomore and junior seasons after defenses realized we had no other WR worth a shite on the team. If he were on this current squad with Amari Cooper, Chris Black, etc giving him some help on the other side and McCarron at QB, it would have been a thing of beauty to see what he could have done.

Debose pops in my head. The guy has shown flashes of brilliance but is meh most of the time.

I wouldn't call Ryan Tannehill a waste of talent, more of a loss of potential. I would like to have seen him develop at QB from day one, instead of switching to QB his junior year

Perrilloux
Shepard
Mahthieu (sort of)
Wing (sort of)
But above all of these,
Cecil Collins.

I don't think DMc was "wasted." Under-utilized? Yes. But he wasn't wasted as you asked in your OP.
The correct answer is Nick Brassell.

Sure, I've heard all about Snoop being a shut down corner, and he proved to be a damn good reciever, but we were planning to play him at corner this year. He hasn't showed enough at corner to give me reason to believe he is an all-time waste. A waste for sure, just not all time. Dex played slot and ran occasionally in the "I don't know what the frick to call so lets do that Wild Rebel thing" formation in 2008. He was our primary RB for 8 or 9 games of 2009 and ran for 1100+ yards. He was wasted for the year of 2008.
