Thoughts? I have kindle fire hd. Is it worth paying 80/year for prime?

If you order a lot of stuff, saves a lot on shipping. Decent selection of movies, shows and books.
I Like having it, and definitely think it's worth it.

Amazon prime's free shipping is amazing. Heard good things a bout the streaming but don't use it.
Find someone with an .edu email and get it for free. Really easy to get a .edu email for yourself too

How often do you order? If often, then it's absolutely worth it.

Yes, "free" 2 days shipping adds up during xmas and birthdays.
Love the damn thing.

worth every penny. I love it. Allowed me to cancel cable and I order all my normal big box store items from there now since I don't have to pay shipping. Also you can setup recurring orders for things like toilet paper and other household stuff that you need monthly and is always a pain to run out of.

Worth it for shipping alone. Prime Video is an added bonus, though selection isn't as good as Netflix.

Have it and it is still worth the price of admission for now. However, I have noticed a lot more online sellers following suit with free quick shipping, and Amazon does not always have the lowest price or the best quality. The payoff may not be worth it in the future.

Ok so when you sign up you get 6 months of 2 day shipping...Then 50% off the regular membership (Prime) price of $80/yr..But it's looking like i have to pay that $40 up front?
Frick that

Seriously? What's the difference? You pay now or you pay later; either way you pay.

If you can afford it, get it. I've had it for years, even before they offered the free instant video.
Consider the video a bonus. It's about on par with Netflix in terms of something you want to watch. I think the streaming quality of Netflix is a bit better.
Don't rent anything from Amazon Prime in terms of HD video. IMO it's unreliable. Vudu is a much better option there.
But you do get used to free 2 day shipping.
