Two questions. When is the early signing period. We need to get them signed before we play lol. Also, who is Gant that Mitchell is talking about is he better than W. Lee?

Still there is some major room for improvement with Mitchell. He is someone who could develop into one of the most feared long range snipers in college basketball with a pure stroke and a quick trigger. Now he needs to either refine the other parts of his game or focus on his strengths to bring the true skillset he possesses out at the highest possible level.

I'd rather this
than this
Well rounded players are nice, but I'd love to have a John Jenkins or Chris Lofton type player who is pretty much automatic on an open 3. We have been sorely missing that recently.

Man frick Scout. Anyway. Man I dont know who I would rather want. WIlliam Lee or JT Gant(if we could get him). Ive seen reports on Lee but ive never saw him play before. I think he is a better offensive Jimmie Taylor from the aau highlights ive seen. Bryant what you think?
Posted on 8/7/13 at 3:25 pm to Tide or Die87
He's better ranked. Consensus top 50 player. I think I'd still rather have Lee, but I like both. I doubt he could pull him anyways.

Yea id rather take the in state player too. I really dont care about rankings. Every time ive read something about Lee its been great. Remember his stats from EYBL and he dominates the inside. Id really like a guy that knows his role like that.

I think Lee would be a better fit for our team. I also think he could be the best college player in our class too.

Yup. With these shooters we need rebounders. It would also be a sick defensive front-court with him and Taylor.

Dan said he's gotten pretty good with his midrange shot too.

@jerrymeyer247: Adding 3 great shooters to roster like Alabama has done could produce a change in the playing style of the Tide. Will be interesting to see.

I just hope Grant doesn't scare them into being afraid of pulling the trigger if they get an open look 8 seconds into a half court possession.

Here's a nice practice scrimmage video of our team: LINK
SPOILER ALERT: Jimmie actually had a couple nice hook shots. Like I said, I don't think he's as bad offensively as a lot of people have made him out to be. Another thing that stuck out was Releford not scoring even one basket, but 3 or so instances of him making the right pass. That excites me some. It looked like Algie was the PG on the white team which might mean he'll be playing some back-up PG. Engstrom had a fantastic up and under reverse. Didn't see anything from Retin which was disappointing.

Really looking forward to the star lines for our games in each of their games. I hope we win too.

2014 PF C.J. Thurman Morgan County (GA) has cut his list down to three schools Tennessee, Miss State and Houston per his coach
He meant CJ Turman. I feel bad for the kid. He wanted Alabama or Georgia but both schools really slow played him.

Also Bird, when we land the 4th member of this class, I'll need a new sig image in order to be positive about the program again.

Not recruiting but...
@CecilHurt: Good news for Alabama forward and perennial All-Name Teamer Dakota Slaughter (@DJdslaught) who has been placed on scholarship for 2013-14.

A great story. I know for a fact that kid was once just a fan. His freshman year was in Crimson Chaos (Infact he's in a fan video at 0:26) and now he's a scholarship member of the team. Great stuff. Roll Tide kid!
