Yes, that statement is true. It stands. It cannot be refuted.

Les had more of a hand in that season did Nick did.

That goes without saying. He'd been the coach for a few seasons by that point.

the comments are probably from waterboys or player personnel directors. What HC actually has the time to discuss other teams with fricking saturdaydownsouth.com?

Why did you quote your own quote in my post?

Is it safe to say Miles has yet to win a National Championship without his OWN recruits?

Yeah, I don't even think this is legit. I have a hard time thinking any coach from the SEC would say any of the stuff in the OP.

Yea, I doubt any of those were by a HC. And certainly none would be Spurrier. He would let you know he said it.

My guess is some assistant coaches begin to sound like the HC because they are surrounded by the content so much. Do you think most any of these guys can sound like their bosses after a few years on the job?

FWIW... SaturdayDownSouth is just quoting from an article in the Athlon Preseason SEC magazine... Here's the original article, Athlon has done this every year forever...

And I think we're starting to move in that direction, but keep some of the size up front too.

There's really no point in acknowledging this shite anymore. Anyone who criticizes Les Miles has serious deficiencies, and should not be respected as an intelligent being

2 national championship appearances in the last 6 years, one victory. Yeah, we suck. Lol.

Athlon gets almost all of these from assistants and coordinators.

Hilarious that every year people try to identify head coaches with each comment.

This sports article sounds like something that was written while the writer was on vacation--all quotes with no names or sources.

This is a total fluff piece--nothing more.

It was refreshing to see comments from people that actually know football rather than commentators looking for follows.

The SEC East comments sounded like a love fest compared to the SEC West!

Arkansas is going to surprise A LOT of people this year. Bielema is a grade-A coach.

Even if what you said about Bielema turns out to be true, Arky will still suck it up this year.

Petrino left Bielema with Sun Belt-level talent and their schedule this year is absolutely brutal.

Arky's ceiling is 5 wins for 2013.

Missouri Tigers

“I respected their scheme tremendously. They got off to a decent start last year. Between James Franklin and some of the other guys getting hurt, especially on the offensive line, they really had trouble moving the ball. And I think the overall SEC took its toll on them as the year went on. WR Dorial Green-Beckham didn’t do much at all, and he was the No. 1 recruit in the nation. I get the impression he needs to mature a little bit. The running back coming back from injury, Henry Josey, he’ll be dangerous if he returns healthy. Really talented back.”

I'm guessing this is coming from UGA or Florida considering Mizzou played UGA good until the 4th qtr and hung in there good with UF.

At least the coaches know why Mizzou sucked. QB not 100%, offensive line banged up, best RB from 2011 out for the season, yes Henry Josey is GOOD.
