A&M is moving in a very possitive direction with Sumlin and recruits dig his style.

A&M is moving in a very Houston Cougar direction. After JFF quits running around, Sumlin will pass the ball 70% of the time...you really think that is gonna work in the SEC?

honestly, it's clear as day, and yes, I would say I'm an expert on the matter. Though our ascension has already begun, and it's happening at a feverish pace. I would bet my life that Tennessee has double the SEC wins as LSU over the next 5 years, and triple over the next 10.

I read quite a few of Coach Sumlin's remarks when A&M got the invite. I think he fully understands what it takes to succeed in the conference. Now if he can make the staff hires and get the recruits...we'll see. I think he will, but who knows.

Well, maybe that will come, we'll see. Really hoping they make this a Thanksgiving Friday game.

That would be sick. I hate when people try to force, or artificially manufacture, rivalries rather than letting them build organically over time. That being said, I truly think this will grow into a very strong rivalry in due time. Too many factors favor it...large passionate fanbase, crazy loud and intimidating stadiums, neighboring states, SEC West etc. Rivalry should be particularly hot in Houston, considering the thousands upon thousands of LSU alumn here.

umm, maybe I'm misreading you. You realize LSU/A&M has 50 OOC games, right?

Ha, he did that because that is what he had to do to win with bottom tier talent at the commuter school known as UH who gets the pathetic scraps of talent after 8-9 other superior regional schools have had their pick of the litter. But they still managed to dominate ranked teams from major conferences like Miss State, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State.

With a good to great OL and a very solid stable of elite talent RB's, no way he will pass even 60% of the time...but keep those fingers crossed.

Kind of scary to think what he can do with top 5-10 recruiting talent year in and year out when he used to dominate superior ranked teams from major conferences with gutter rat talent.

Right, I am with you, there is definitely history there and the foundation for a rivalry. I am just talking about people (mostly Ags) who have tried to "declare" rivalries with certain opponents (namely LSU) in the recent past.

This will be a very high profile game and moving it to the rivalry weekend makes it only that much better!

Nothing against Mizzou but we have the proximity and a pretty long history of playing LSU as OOC.

The rivalry is already there. They still owe us money from when they pussed out in the mid-90's.

You must be too young to remember us kicking their arse literally every year until they took their ball and went home.
