If Clowney is the best player in college football, can't he get USC a title?

USC will be in contention for the national title this year. I firmly believe that.

Offense or defense, it takes more than one player.

A defensive end by himself is not enough to win a title. Neither is a qb.

Lately it's been less and less about who's the best individual player in college football (what it was intended to be about), and more about who's the best player on the best college football team. And those are two very different things....

It's allowed outside influences to hold sway over the committee at the Downtown Athletic Club to suit their own personal agendas (ESPN). I have less respect for the award than I used to have 20 yrs ago....

There's 22+ starters. Takes more than one player to win a championship.
