Awesome guitar player, but he is currently the king of dorky song themes.
That's not always a bad thing

Get the frick out.

Meh, he's had some good stuff. Nothing will ever excuse taking Wagon Wheel to the woodshed though

ETA: And I'm moving Brantley Gilbert to the "hit or miss" category. His rock/blues county is good, but I had forgotten that he's responsible for "My Kinda Party" and "Dirt Road Anthem".

I'm half-tempted to megacasty that.

Another great Texas country artist is Jason Boland. Some of his live stuff is fantastic.

I guess my thing is I have such a wide range of tastes in music that I don't automatically label a genre or an era as better than another or abject crap. I can usually find redeeming qualities in a lot of tracks I listen to across a broad spectrum, so I tend not to suffer music snobs gladly

And you know I was just messin' with the :racist: thing, I hope

I dated a black girl once, so I'm off the hook for at least a few more years.

The only current country singer worth his weight is Eric Church hands down. Listen to his albums, not just what you hear on the radio. Its pretty damn good.
