If these were the qualities, I'd pick Willie Nelson. His shows are still AMAZING and he comes back from anything.

I support this. All the hippy dippy peoples rave about that band (I'm thinking of 1998ish here people) I'd go to a party and bongos would come out, we'd do a drum circle, phish would end up being played and they'd jam to it for hours over and over and over again.

Hubbs would have to tell us what Fville is going apeshit over now. It'd likely be Yonder or Widespread Panic would be my guesses.

Metallica is perfect for Tennessee. Household name, was extremely popular in its heyday, rocked super hard, but has since aged and released a string of embarrassing flops.

As previously discussed, Arkansas is Phish.

Georgia is R.E.M. just because the connection is so strong, but if you were to say "which team is most like R.E.M's career?" I'd say A&M. R.E.M. had critical praise and a hardcore following as early as '83's Murmur, but labored in widespread popular obscurity until they *changed record labels* and came out with Green in '88 and didn't become giant until Pop Screen in '91. Plus, Michael Stipe is gay and we are accused of being gay all the time on here.

LSU should be CCR

Bingo

There is no other band LSU should be...if you didn't say CCR for LSU, you either don't know music, or don't know Louisiana

True, I'm a big CCR fan, but John Fogerty's southern accent was completely fake.
