Of course, I exclude the present site since it is awesome.
Realistically, however, can anybody stand rivals and scout? The SEC boards for those corporations are friggin terrible. Basically, they are just hitching a ride to a name brand to teams that have been established for 100's of years and half the writers have no idea wtf they are talking about. The scout Auburn site is terrible. I've looked at other ones and they are no better. The UGA site is like some kind of Orwellian conspiracy theory circle jerk.

Lets be honest
Posters like you are what make them, and this board miserable.

what site did you look at? I read the UGA Rivals board that requires a subscription and it's great, I love it. Pretty much any free board you find is going to be mostly garbage.

Oh, I guess the free dawgvent. Those MF's recruit in top 10 every year but to read that board you would think Hitler was keeping them down.

Our rivals board is run by one of the best Mizzou sportswriters. I assume it's good, but I've never had the desire to pay to find out.

that would be the dawgchat. it's basically the TD version of the OT. 10% sports talk, 90% shooting the shite. I know you don't GAS but here's a history lesson.
From the last 90s when that site formed up until oohhhh somewhere around 2006 or 2007, the UGA rivals site just had 1 message board (called the dawgvent) and it was free. It was discussion of all UGA sports the majority of the time, then "the night crew" would take over and it'd look like the OT does now. Well, eventually the moderators split the board amongst A LOT of backlash. There was then the Dawgvent (which required a paid subscription) that would be 100%, nothing but UGA sports talk, and the Dawgchat (free) for everything else. In recent years they've also added (subscription required) boards for baseball, basketball, recruiting etc. So basically that's why the dawgchat looks as it does and shouldn't be a source for any real UGA info.

I've never understood why people pay for those sites. I can read what I need to know about recruiting on the free page.

I used to think the same thing, "well anything that is on there I'll find out anyway, whether it's in a few days, weeks, or months..eventually I'll find out"..until I decided to bite the bullet one year and pay for it.
I loved it. The discussion is far more advanced than you'll find on a free board. And I can't speak for any other pay boards, but the dawgvent does have some actual, legit insiders that are very connected to the program that pass info along here or there. It's also a place to just get a lot more in depth coverage with all aspects. Audio/video of player and coach interviews, video from practices (the parts that media is allowed to watch, of course), etc.

So you argument is because the mods changed the name of the free forum and started charging you money, it is not so bad?

I think the Auburn Rivals guy, Jeff Lee, routinely has every recruit going to Auburn and he even posted another rival fans personal info on a message board. He's terrible.
