re: Is UGA going to be the mirror image of Alabama

I didn't read the thread. Just the last page or 2.
And I don't know any UGA fans who are mad at the rest of the SEC because UGA is strict on character issues.
It is what it is. I personally don't expect other teams to test their players the day they come back from spring break. And I'm not mad at my school for making the conscious effort of making high profile players an example in front of the entire country.
It is what it is. According to UGA, it's the right way to lead young student athletes.

The point I was "driving at" was about compromising your integrity. Academics is part of it as is multitude of other issues which included what Urban was letting his players get away with.

I don't think there's much of a point.
Some teams don't look at it as a point of integrity. Integrity means something completely different to everyone. They don't feel shame. They don't feel jealousy over how UGA goes about our business.
It is what it is.
The point of pride for UGA isn't saying we do things this way and you don't.
It's the opposite.
We do things our way. You do it your way.
Integrity isn't complaining that other programs have different standards.
Integrity is maintaining our standard regardless. It has nothing to do with the other schools.

I think you're right. UGA got to much integrity to play for the BCS.
Can't win it without at least 1 thug on the team.

Yeah, this place is pretty pathetic in that aspect. Simple...
Get bored at the office from time to time and toss a simple hook with an elaborate group of mumbojumbo and ride it for a page or so. Came back thinking 5 pager on the 3rd page of threads. 3rd post down, lol...

They have never made it to the conference championship game and probably never will as long as Les and Saban are at the helm.
But continue to flame on
But continue to flame on

You bastard.
The mirror image you spoke of was just the reflection off the trout pond.

Is it finally UGA's time to bring home the Crystal Football and continue the SEC streak?
The answer to your question is "NO"

This is really the only thing that gets my Jimmies rustled in all the "UGA is teh thUGA!!!!1111oneoneoneunouno!!!111 stuff"
2 of the 7 teams in the SEC West are going to start a player at QB that was kicked out of UGA.
People point out how we have a lot of players suspeded or players kicked off as if that indicates a lack of discipline.
Maybe the reason you hear a lot about UGA players misbehavior is that it comes with an automatic suspension most of the time.
Sports Illustrated on UGA drug policy
quote:
Georgia's policy calls for a 10-percent of the season (one game in football) suspension for the first offense and a 30-percent of the season (four games in football) suspension for a second positive. At all but two other schools in the SEC (Kentucky and Mississippi State), a player who tests positive the first time does not miss a game. At Alabama and LSU, the two programs that faced off for the national title last year, a second positive test forces a suspension of at most two games. At Florida, a second positive for marijuana results in a one-game suspension. (To see a conference-by-conference list of athletic department drug policies, check out the one compiled by CBSSports.com's Brett McMurphy in November.) By dinging players for one game on the first positive and four on the second, Georgia's substance-abuse policy hurts the program in two ways:
It's not about other teams being shady and UGA being so noble, I'd argue football player behavior is basically similar at all the high-profile schools, you are just going to hear about more misbehavior at places with stricter suspension policies. So then mouth-breathers (many of whom grew up in Georgia but couldn't get in UGA) can return to "Marc Rich has l0st control of thUGA!!!111"

Starting to sound like Auburn fans, "Yeah, we're losers, but only because we do things the RIGHT way!".

No, Auburn fans say they don't cheat.
Never heard one say they do things the right way. Big difference.

To be fair, I think MOST UGA fans would be more in line with my philosophy than RD's
You know this how? I'm not talking about sidewalk alumni or even message board trollers.
I'm referring to fans that actually went to UGA.
I doubt very few would take your side in this issue.
