Then there's LSU, UF, USC, and even perhaps Vanderbilt in the mix for the next in line. Vandy's defense has been legit the past 2 seasons, and they return most of their starters (only lose 5 I believe with 6 or more starts). LSU loses 9 from '12, UF loses 7 and USC lost 6...

Here's a serious question: When is the last time Alabama didn't finish with the top defense in the SEC?

2013 will be a big offensive year in the sec. Not a lot of great defenses like last year.

One player does not make a team great.
He is a great player don't get me wrong. USCe will not have the best defense in the SEC because of one player.

Bama. 3/6 of our two deep on the DL return, all four of our starting LBs this season will be returning starters, and our secondary will be far and away better than last season.
