It's not really his IP though. He just claimed it from some local sports writer.

It very much is his - doesn't matter who thought up the nickname, he is the subject of the nickname. JFF is a marketable brand - the brand is worthless with the nickname alone - it's the substance of him as a great player in connection with the nickname that builds the brand. And that is his property, to which he's afforded legal protection. All he's doing is attempting to enforce that protection - I would do the same thing.

Is this really true? Because if he gave HIMSELF the name and THEN wants to shut down the nickname and prohibit anything sold with the name on it until he leaves college football (so he can make the $$) - then yes, he deserves the title of being a certifiable prick.

He may be able to do it, but it still makes him a prick.

This is the icing on the cake that solidifys him as a douche. He was a douche for taking only "on-line" classes. If cam newton can come back from the NFL to go attend regular class then I know is broke out pimpled arse can handle it. What the hell is jman2? That sounds like something a broke hood rat in Memphis would name their cardboard cut out recording studio. As far as I know, no college player has ever done this so it really is unprecedented doughyness
