Does anyone know who we have had play the past 4-5 years? I obviously remember Sugarland, but how did we go from that to what we have this year? Kind of a let down.

Darius Rucker and Robert Randolph and the family band are 2 that I can remember.

Sugar land was last year.

2 Chainz, Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Jay Z are making a song called DEM MISS ST BASEBALL BOYZ and they are going to drop in the outfield from a plane with twerking background dancers.

Tough for MSU to get top bands with less than a 200K budget for a whole year.
That's why you never see a concert at Ole Miss or USM.
They have even less money.

Well that should bring a friendly crowd to Starkville. Guess I should stop putting off getting my Concealed carry permit

I was about to say WTF that doesn't sound like our administration.

It's all about opinion and everyone has one when it comes to music. I don't know if we're getting 2 chainz but he is actually as popular as sugarland. Personally, I would not be excited about either one equally.

People really get worked up over free music. I would prefer if they just got the most popular act they can, even if I do not like them.

I know you like Taylor Swift. Sorry we can't get her.

Everyone likes her. And the crowd for Taylor Swift would be a bunch of crazy hot girls. You would go.

If the Hal and Mal's parade can get Alabama Shakes, we can get some good music. But you can't make everyone happy, no matter what you get.

Very good band, but sadly, someone like Jason Aldean would draw 10 times the amount that a band like Alabama Shakes would.

Yeah, which is why I don't bitch and moan too much about the bands we choose anymore. I can't be mad at whoever chooses them.

From what I have heard after talking to friends within the student government. They went all out last year with Sugarland in the stadium because of the expansion. It would be the last chance to do something like that for a couple years. So they threw down some extra cash to do it. Leaving this year with a smaller budget. There are very mixed reactions here on campus with the students about this year's bands. A lot of people were hoping for a good country performer such as Jerrod Neimann or Lee Brice. Then of course you had some wanting hip hop artists. I think that most will take well to what we got though.
