well, it looks like we were close to getting a commit or two but none pulled the trigger.

We could be getting a commitment or two this weekend.

From who?
Apparently, one of our student workers thought this would be funny. That is the word campus at least.

Great breakdown of the depth chart. My roommate is the Clarion Ledger intern this semester and has been going to spring practice.

According to him Nick James has looked lazy and just doesn't care much. Eulls being moved to DL is great. Quay and Jordan Washington have made strides. Like the linebacker positions, I think the 2's for the D-line will be a rotating door. Denico and Preston will be good starters. CJ, Ryan, and AJ will make solid subs.

At Saturday's practice Redmond and Cox started at corners with Jiles and Love rotating in. Redmond and Cox in together gives us great size and length. I can almost bet that coaches will stick with Redmond and Cox starting.

Also at practice, Les and Dan have been abusing double TE sets. Be prepared to see a lot of passes in the flats to guys like Holmes and Malcolm. While more mid-range passes will be headed to Rufus. Rufus has become quite the receiver according to coaches and reporters. He has figured out how to use the good frame, wingspan, and hands that he contains.

My thoughts on the wide receivers is that obviously we lack experience. Obviously it might take a game or two to fix the tweaks. However, the group of kids we have have A LOT of potential. We have a wide range of height, muscle, and quickness.

Our starting offensive line is pretty dang big. Hopefully injuries won't happen this coming season. I disagree that our second string interior line sucks. Muniz has had injury problems, but that doesn't mean he sucks. Muniz is known to be unmovable to D-lineman. Guy has tree trunks for legs and holds his ground better than most. Dylan Holley hasn't been proven because Day is ahead of him, tough to beat. Still doesn't make him bad. Beckwith is probably the best of the three, and he can move around at both guard positions. Also noted from my roommate, Devon Desper has been practicing at guard as well as center. Coaches feel as if he can be used at both positions due to his progress. Always good to hear. Cole Carter gets man-handled in practice, the end.

Very tough.
Rockin' the long sleeve MSU t-shirt with a new State visor. Hail State!

Huge problem with this is that ABC and the SPD have cracked down hard. State Theater has closed twice? Rick's has gotten sketchy on some nights. The District always has a good crowd on the weekends for the most part. Staggar Inn gets a big turn out on Thursday nights with $10 all you can drink. Zorba's is packed on Thursday nights and mediocre the rest of the weekend.

As a student, I can tell you that I love going to watch basketball games, baseball games, and football games. BUT y'all are right. Students don't attend baseball or basketball events like we should. Obviously basketball is down this season and baseball is up. But to be honest, the university does not hype up these games to students like they should. They are too worried about putting "This is our State" on billboards when there is NOTHING on campus trying to get kids in the stands. Their lame attempt for basketball games with the guy and girl trying to hype up the crowd before and during the game is pathetic too.

From what I have heard after talking to friends within the student government. They went all out last year with Sugarland in the stadium because of the expansion. It would be the last chance to do something like that for a couple years. So they threw down some extra cash to do it. Leaving this year with a smaller budget. There are very mixed reactions here on campus with the students about this year's bands. A lot of people were hoping for a good country performer such as Jerrod Neimann or Lee Brice. Then of course you had some wanting hip hop artists. I think that most will take well to what we got though.

Super Bulldog Weekend Concerts

Does anyone know who we have had play the past 4-5 years? I obviously remember Sugarland, but how did we go from that to what we have this year? Kind of a let down.
Josh Pastner has talked to him numerous times and is suppose to go watch a game. I doubt Memphis will pull the trigger though because we have two point guards and one one the way. And Sam Craft, who is a Memphis football commit, will walk on for Pastner as well.

oh, I know. That's what is scary. He could have made this A LOT worse. haha
This has easily been on of the most hectic recruiting years I have seen.. and CJ has single handedly sent the landmass of Mississippi into chaos.. haha Best of luck to both in-state schools.
I am liking what I am hearing about this kid. Slay 2.0? I can dig it.
Wow, didn't see that coming.. At All
