We can get Mofro anytime. So can any of the bars. Mofro isn't a big deal and plays local all the damn time.

I've never seen them play local up here. One of my favorite bands and I've yet to catch them anywhere close

I know they played memphis, north ms, central ms, and southern ms this past year. I have seen them a lot without even making an effort to really.

Another problem is Starkville does not support music.
Tough to bring in big acts and pay 100-300K when it's not well attended.

This is very true at least lately.
When I go in bulldog deli and see all the posters it's hard to believe all of those musicians actually played in the Hump

i seriously don't understand what's happened to our students. It's like they don't appreciate the true college life

They suck....
We are the #5 baseball team in the country and had less than 1k students at the games this weekend.

Just start cutting back student seating on everything.

I agree.
I can't remember what school is doing this, but they are lowering the student allotment by 2k and making them available to recent alumni. I'm all in favor of this, but I doubt it happens.

Georgia's doing it I think. Yeah, it's a good idea. Not sure why student turn out is bad...but oh well. May as well just say screw them and make money off it.

I know. I really don't get it but the classes below me in HS were lame as frick I remember in my 10th through 12th grade my class and the older classes were fun as shite and then my 12th grade year nobody younger than us came to our parties.
Seems that has carried over to college as well.

I agree with lowering student seating..we all go to the outfield anyways.

As a student, I can tell you that I love going to watch basketball games, baseball games, and football games. BUT y'all are right. Students don't attend baseball or basketball events like we should. Obviously basketball is down this season and baseball is up. But to be honest, the university does not hype up these games to students like they should. They are too worried about putting "This is our State" on billboards when there is NOTHING on campus trying to get kids in the stands. Their lame attempt for basketball games with the guy and girl trying to hype up the crowd before and during the game is pathetic too.

Or go out to bars.

Huge problem with this is that ABC and the SPD have cracked down hard. State Theater has closed twice? Rick's has gotten sketchy on some nights. The District always has a good crowd on the weekends for the most part. Staggar Inn gets a big turn out on Thursday nights with $10 all you can drink. Zorba's is packed on Thursday nights and mediocre the rest of the weekend.
