Hey LanierSpots, do you know this kid? Sounds like he's got a bright future in bass fishing. Hell, I guess he has a bright present too.

Awesome. The kid's got a spot in the 2013 Classic too? Wow.
Damn..... I was hoping that was the one on Gville. Looks like its OK on Grand Lake. You ever been there Lanier?

Got my issue in the mail a couple of days ago and saw him on the cover. I was all
. I hope the kid does well in the Classic. Repping that Orange and Blue.

I am curious and I might not have ever really paid attention, do other schools have kids repping like Auburn does when they leave? Auburn has several golfers that sport orange and blue a bit and talk up Auburn when they can, add in this kid sporting an Auburn truck and boat with the Auburn magazine cover. I never really notice ex-Bama players doing this nearly as much as I notice Auburn.

Did the article say that he won the boat and truck?
I would then assume that an NCAA-recognized "club" activity like bass fishing isn't under the same rules with regard to compensation as direct NCAA sanctioned sports?

Cam Newton hates Auburn as does every other person who went here.

Saw his truck and boat today in Auburn, did a bit of a double-take. They look great.

I have a Bass sticker and a AU decal on my fishing kayak. I can't get no love.

It seems like Vandy grads who are in the press rep Vandy pretty well.

How the hell is it ok with the NCAA for a student athlete to win a truck and boat but not ok to give a football player a ride to class?

Clubs live on a different set of rules. My roommate was on the Auburn Lacrosse team but it was technically a club so he could do whatever. They have no amateur status when they are off scholarship on not on an official team.

Oh ok I see. I always thought they were on scholarship and under NCAA rules like everyone else.
