5) Almost every recruit that has visited has talked about the great family atmosphere at Ole Miss. It means quite a bit to young kids to feel like they are part of a family than out there on their own.
I am lost and have no clue about this one...

Our fans are knowledgeable/hardcore as well. A lot of schools (MSU cough cough) could never replicate the crowd love we show to recruits when they visit.
We make these kids feel like kings - it's amazing considering our lack of top-level success how every rallies behind the football program.

Sorry it was a knee jerk response. He meant the ever present WAOM. I'll give you the context. It was a cheer we did before football games when we were younger. It became a sarcastic self-loathing jab after years of mediocrity and just misses.
For instance.
We've never beaten Alabama, LSU and State in the same year.
We've never won the SEC in basketball.
We haven't been to Omaha in forty years.
Etc Etc

Great point about being in top 20. Doesn't take too many top rated additions to jump into top 10 from there.

Thanks for clarifying DMag. I get the frustration over the other sports...it sucks!

Agreed. That's why I'll give the noobs a pass for a while. We haven't had this sort of excitement in some time.

You'll be able to cross this one off the list after the 2013 season.

Well I appreciate all the good info. The big recruiting success makes complete sense now. You all have a lot to be excited about and the West in the SEC is just fricking off the charts tough as hell. I mean top to bottom it is going to be the toughest schedule in CFB. Well good luck to you Bears and enjoy the fun. You noobs have fun, but dial back the prick meter some...

You do know I was being facetious considering the "Family" thing is all I have heard concerning AU recruiting the last few years.

Does anyone think the Miami Heat have anything to do with this? By that, I mean the concept of a "Dream Team" has been planted in a generation of young players, coupled with the proliferation of social media/portable communication. Now, players that just a decade ago would've never had contact with one another outside of OVs and All-Star games can communicate with one another daily outside the control of any college coaches. Just a thought...

It is not a far fetched idea when you consider UGA had a class a little bit ago based on that concept if I recall correctly.

Nope huge factor in our success. Very astute points.

So you've followed recruiting in year's past? Nkemdiche is built from the same mold as Everson Griffen.. The kid who played at USC and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings... Both are elite pass rushers as well as run stoppers and played some RB for their respective HS teams... It's like Jevan Kearse and Jason Pierre-Paul had a son together.

Funny you mentioned that - I've been telling all my Bama friends that we're the new Auburn

I like to think of us as the new Miami. Swag and all. Henderson started it, Mathis will keep it going and Donte will close it out.

I already am taking AU to the "U" status. Back off...
