The number one rusher in the SEC in 2012 was Johnny Football - 1,410 yards @ 7.0 yds/attempt. Awesome.

Since Bama loses a great short yardage back who is a stud, but has another in Yeldon...heres my list and Im unbiased
UGA
Bama
LSU
A&M
(the above is close between Bama & UGA and AM& LSU are close but Manziel is a stud and coudl put A&M in second place...but UGA definitely has the overall best backfield imho.
UF is probably 8th-10th based on Driskel and putting Burton as an H back, wildcat qb. We do have immense talent coming in with Kelvin Taylor, Adam Lane joined by Mack Brown and Matt Jones who got some carries late in the year as a true frosh. We will probably end up in top five of the SEC...but cant list potential and Im trying to be fair.

I agree. If we're excluding the QB from the backfield, I have to give the nod to:
UGA
Bama
LSU
Including QBs changes the game a little in A&M's favor due to Manziel, though.
In short, SEC staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacked, as per usual.

At the very least, we are better than LSU with manziel

Absolutely. With JFF, I'd put our backfield in Bama's company (yardage-wise).
Still think UGA's backfield combo is a cut above, though.

quote:No shite... what does anything he said have to do with who has the best backfield in the SEC.... OK rooster you beat us, that's one game from '12,we played 13 more. UGA was playing from behind after a missed int & a Ace punt return, what did it get ya? Not the SECE again, but it's not relevant to the convo... FWIW... LINK

Honestly, I hope it does not happen, but are A&M fans fully aware of how quickly it can all come to an end in the SEC against these defenses?
Lattimore had that many yards his freshman season ...
Of course, when Lattie went down SC kept winning, both seasons, because of depth and because of the system.
If JFF goes down, and honestly I hope he does not, but what would A&M do without JFF?

We would plug in matt davis and not miss a beat... not too much of a beat anyways.
You see, it's the system not the players, however Johnny runs it oh so well.
Sumlin is an offensive Saban, he's simply going to have a great offense, period. He's gonna tail whip ya a lot like this

Looks to me like they need to start figuring on that. We need to start an over/under on JFF even being eligible next season. He seems to be enjoying his new found fame quite a bit even after the AD talked to him and his parents...
He is starting to look like a TM7 case.

He's at least 2 standard deviations smarter than TM7 dude... and his parents are loaded, he's doing nothing wrong.

Wow... woodshed.
scrooster makes a post I agree with.
I don't wish harm on any player, but damn if JFF isn't being set up, poetically.
